I couldn’t tell if remains were still inside of these pants or not. Just in case.

What is on the beanie? Looks like UNLV? We’d be looking at it upside down and inside out. Like this…

What are the chances the map pin in NamUs is accurate? Craig disappeared from the Chicago Conservatory of Music. Less than half a mile from the pin. Clothing probably doesn’t fit.

My memory is a little hazy but I remember UNLV stuff being gang affiliated (vice lords?) growing up in Chicago in the 90s. I thought the logo was neat but was forbidden to get it.

I submitted this despite the potential race/ethnicity discrepancy. Maybe it’ll spur an update on that or a possible reconstruction.

@Caring1 Hey could you post the current list of NamUs exclusions for this John Doe? I would greatly appreciate it.

Hey all-

I did a lot of digging into the clothing for this UID so I thought I would share:

Scandia is a clothing line that appears to have been active in the 1980s and 1990s. I found the sweater that the UID wore: Vintage Men's Large Stripe Sweater Scandia USA | eBay and I sent a message to the seller to ask if they know how old the sweater is. I found this one also: Vintage scandia acrylic abstract sweater fits small

Durable Press appears to be a clothing manufacture who makes clothing like coveralls and jackets - "work clothing" like what one might wear if working at a car garage or old fashioned gas station - uniform-type wear. It is also called "Red Kap" brand. And they also made military issue clothing, but that tag is different than the one worn by the UID. The tag has varied from the clothing I have looked up. The number underneath the cap on the left is (I think) RN-15220.That seems to match a work shirt number, not pants, when you search that number on the company's web site (www.redkap.com). I have found pants on Ebay that have the RN-15220 code so it must be a particular style. The line is still made today, but the tag is totally different and the clothing line is now made in Mexico.

1990s Red Kap tag example: VINTAGE Red Kap Jeans Mens 36x33 Durable Press Regular Straight Work Made USA | eBay (this looks most like the UIDs tag)

The hat is from University of Nevada Las Vegas (thanks to my fiance Tim being able to read upside down and backwards) with its "Runnin' Rebels" mascot. Hey Reb, who appeared for the first time in December 1982, was discontinued in 2020. My fiance tells me that they had one of the best basketball teams in the country in the late 1980s - early 1990s. My search found that the mascot is from around the 1990s: UNLV Rebels Vintage 90's Logo 7 Competitor Snapback Cap Hat - NWT | eBay
This is the 1980s version of the mascot: Vintage UNLV Runnin Rebels Leather Strap Hat Rope Cap NCAA Las Vegas 80s Black | eBay
Another piece of information - UNLV sports material was worn by gangs - the Unknown Vice Lords specifically: https://www.washingtonpost.com/arch...-behind/7ea821b4-cac9-49d1-ad0b-9fb21a6f27b8/ who were active in the early 1990s in Chicago: https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1994-05-15-9405150490-story.html

Coming up empty on the Fila sneakers, sadly.

The underwear brand is "Stafford" which is still sold by JC Penney.
