Found Deceased UK - Leah Croucher - Emerson Valley - Milton Keynes - #7

Yes Kuwait
The owner hasn’t been here since 2018.
The recent refreshed house to house by TVP was asking specifically about movements noted on 19th Feb, some days later. Not sure why…
(Local knowledge, apologies if not allowed)
According to a neighbour, it was 2019 when the owner was last at the property:

This report confirms a Kuwaiti businesswomen owns the property and that gardens were searched in the area in 2019 but not properties:

The parents of Leah Croucher, John and Claire, have today (10/2) released a statement ahead of Leah’s funeral, which will take place on Friday 3 March.

Leah’s funeral will be a private family service, but a cortege will pass through Emerson Valley, Furzton, Shenley Brook End, Shenley Church End and Grange Farm for members of the public to pay their respects.

They said: “Hello to the people of Milton Keynes who have supported us every step of the way with the search for Leah, during the long three years and eight months that she was classed as a missing person.

“We cannot thank you all enough for this support during those years, as well as the past four and a half months since Leah was found.

“The community outpouring displayed at the address in Furzton, as well as the countless messages of support displayed on a tree nearby, which have been compiled into a book by the local church on the estate has taken our breath away.

“As a family, this has brought us a large amount of comfort.

“The time has come to finally lay our beautiful Leah to rest.

“We have been advised that many of you may wish to continue to show your support and respect for Leah.

“We ask you all, as a family, that you respect our wishes for a private service at the crematorium.

“This will be a service for Leah’s family and friends, and there is also a limit to the amount of guests we can have due to space and Health & Safety regulations.

“However, we would like to offer the opportunity to those of you who wish to pay your respects and say your very own private ‘goodbye’ to Leah as she goes on her final journey to the crematorium.

“Our request is not only for the people of Milton Keynes, but also for the media, to please at this very difficult time, respect our wishes for Leah’s funeral to be private.

“We would ask you to please be mindful where you park as we would anticipate a number of people will want to pay their respects.

“If you are able to use public transport, or share vehicles, that would be preferable so that local traffic is not too heavily impacted.

“Leah’s funeral will be held on Friday 3 March and the cortege is planned to leave Emerson Valley at approximately 10.50am.

“We are releasing a map showing the exact route that we will follow to this private ceremony.

“We also ask that only family purchase floral tributes.

“A Just Giving page has been created as we would like to raise funds again for a charity that has supported us throughout this difficult time, Missing People, so that they continue their hugely valuable work.

“Should you wish to make a donation, as a mark of your respect for Leah, you can do so by visiting: In memory of Leah Croucher - JustGiving

“We close this message by once again thanking everybody, not only in Milton Keynes, but across the UK, for all your loving support, messages and sympathy.

“It truly has helped us through this enormously difficult time, and we are extremely grateful.”

I wonder what Leah's family make of the saturation media coverage of Nicola Bulley's disappearance? There was nothing like this, certainly not on a national scale, for Leah when she vanished. What prompted Channel 5 to have a live discussion programme on Nicola a couple of days ago? Why did they not do the same for Leah two weeks after she disappeared in 2019?

So what is the national media's criteria to give a missing person saturation news coverage? Age? Social standing? The area where they live?

Of course, i hope all of this publicity leads to finding Nicola, but i cant help thinking 'why didn't they do this for Leah?'

That is actually very true and both on the face of it are being treated as a missing person enquiry with seemingly ‘weird’ circumstances around them as in zero trace, the disbelief etc. I suppose the only difference is the body of water near Nicola.

I wonder if the police force investigating it has an impact?

I never thought of that - maybe the Lancashire police have better contacts with the national media than the Thames Valley police!

I hope the Lancashire police consider a potential crime scene in Nicola's disappearance, as well as the fallen in the river scenario.

I have been thinking this too over the last few days. Leah went missing close to Furzton lake and I believe in the beginning that was the police main focus as it was assumed she may be in there. Both Leah and Nicola disappeared early in the morning, close to bodies of water (but not found in the water). Both seemed to have just vanished...until of course we sadly found out poor Leah's fate in October 2022.

I'll never understand why some cases get so much media attention and others don't but I do think Leahs family did a great job of conveying to the public Leah's kind & caring personality. I am not local to milton keynes to have paid my respects at the leahs journey procession but I will make a donation in her memory. Leah is why I joined websleuths. I always felt from the start she would not have disappeared off her own accord like the police kept suggesting. I may not have ever known Leah but because of her, I view the world differently, I am more aware of my surroundings when out travelling, i try not to travel alone, I have a safety app on my phone to notify loved ones of my location should anything happen and I probably would not have set these things up if it was not for Leah. I hope on some level her family can take comfort that Leah's tragedy will have actually helped many others similarly like me.

So how much longer are the TVP going to take before they reveal any more details about what they have found out about Maxwell during the investigations?

He was first announced as a suspect in October 2022:

In November 2022, we had this:

More details (albeit minimal) revealed earlier this year:

The only thing that could 'seriously jeopardise' the investigation is surely the suicide note itself - no details have been released about what was in the note, so what exactly does it contain? Any reference to Leah? Or any confession to murder? Does it perhaps implicate someone else in a murder? Maybe (as has been mentioned before) does the handwriting on the note on the shed door differ from the suicide note?

I am beginning to wonder if the police overlooked something that was in the note during the initial inquest back in October 2019.

I agree. After all this time the public deserves an explanation as to how and why this happened to Leah? How have they connected the property Leah was found in to Maxwell if he was using a fake alias? What did the suicide note say that they can't release? I also thought there was going to be an inquest but I havent seen any further mention of it since Leah was found over a year ago.

I find it truely horrifying that poor Leah was innocently walking to work and snatched off the street by a monster and looking at his criminal history he should not have been walking the streets IMO. There was uproar at Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa and other women killed while out walking and rightly so, yet for some reason Leah just seems forgotten about.
