I feel like I've seen a few cases like this where there's partial skeletal remains as well as 'ritualistic' items. (I wonder what the items in question were here?) My first thought is grave robbing as opposed to this person being a homicide victim.

That was my first thought too. Murder for 'satanic' reasons is very rare, grave robbing or using anatomical specimens (acquired legally or not) is a lot easier. I too wonder what the items were and if they were really 'satanic' or were more like ritualistic items that could have been connected to voodoo or similar indigenous practice. 1995 wasn't far off from Satanic Panic, lots of overblown anxiety about Satanism and connections with heavy metal etc.

I was gonna say -- I would love some elaboration on what these "satanic cult items" were.. this gives off satanic panic energy.

It very much does sound like satanic panic. I don't remember it that well but it was all the rage late 80's and mid 90's?
