KY - Lance Storz, 49, dies in 2023, Accused of Killing Three Police Officers - Allen, Floyd County - 30 June 2022

Yes. But in general KY is pretty soft on murders other than those who kill LE.

If you take a look at death row you'll find those that are still on the row committed some heinous crimes. Some who committed heinous crimes get their conviction changed to life without parole.

Kentucky rarely carries out the death sentence.
Maybe it did this time.

A man accused of fatally shooting three Kentucky law enforcement officers in an ambush last year has died while in custody awaiting trial for murder, authorities said.

The suspect, Lance Storz, died from an apparent suicide, prosecutors said.

Storz was being held in Pike County Detention Center without bail on 20 counts, including three counts of murder and seven counts of attempted murder, in connection with the June 2022 mass shooting at his home in Floyd County.
