We are appealing for the assistance of the public in tracing 28-year-old Reece Rodger who was last seen in the Kinloch Rannoch area on Saturday, 18 March.

Reece is from Fife and he is described as 6ft in height and of slim build with dark-coloured hair. When he was last seen he was wearing a black t-shirt and black jogging trousers.

Sergeant Lindsay Brown of Blairgowrie Police Station said: “Reece was camping with his friends on the shore of Loch Rannoch. He was last seen around 11.30pm on Saturday evening and they believed he was heading to bed. However there was no trace of him on Sunday morning and he was reported missing.

“We are extremely concerned for his safety as he is not dressed for the cold weather and he is not familiar with the area. Searches are enquiries are ongoing to trace him as soon as possible to ensure that he is safe and well.

“I would urge anyone who has seen Reece, or who has any information on his whereabouts to contact police. I would also ask anyone living in the local area to please check their outbuildings or sheds in case he has taken shelter there.”

Any information should be passed to 101 quoting reference number 1348 of 19 March.

Friends and family fear for the safety of a camper who went missing during an outdoor trip.

Reece Rodger was staying near Loch Rannock in Perthshire, Scotland, with friends when he vanished at the weekend.

His travel companions say the 28-year-old from Fife was last seen on Saturday night at around 11.30pm, when they say he headed to bed.

Waking this morning however, Reece's friends claim he was nowhere to be found.

A search operation is continuing in an effort to find a Fife man who went missing on a Perthshire camping trip.

Reece Rodger, 28, was camping with friends on the shore of Loch Rannoch – near Kinloch Rannoch – was last seen at around 11.30pm on Saturday night.

He was believed to be heading to bed, but there was no trace of him on Sunday morning and he was reported missing.

The search has now entered its third full day with Tayside Mountain Rescue joining police at the scene.

Family and friends have also been out looking for Reece.

Loch Rannoch Highland Club has offered to accommodate searchers.

In a Facebook post it said: “We have reached out to Sergeant James Longden and the Tayside police to offer our support by providing complimentary accommodation for the search and rescue team at our 85-lodge club.

“We believe that having a comfortable place to rest and regroup is essential for their effectiveness, and we are more than willing to contribute in any way we can.

“Our team is also familiar with the local area and its terrain and is prepared to assist with any guidance or resources that may be needed.

“We have already instructed our staff to check all outbuildings on our property in case Reece has taken shelter there and will immediately notify the police if we find any information that could aid in the search.”

THE search for a Fife man who went missing during a camping trip in Perthshire at the weekend is continuing.

Specialist search teams have been working to locate Reece Rodger, 28, who is understood to be from Rosyth, since Sunday after he vanished from the Kinloch Rannoch area at 11.30pm on Saturday.

He had been camping on the shore of Loch Rannoch.

Friends told officers they believed he was going to bed when they last saw him however there was no trace of him on Sunday morning.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said that they were continuing their efforts to locate Reece.

“We are asking anyone camping or driving in the area when Reece was last seen and since then to get in touch if they have seen anyone who matches his description.

“We are also asking a man wearing dark clothing seen walking eastward around 11.30pm on Saturday, 18 March, on the road between Liarn Farm and Aulich to get in touch as he could assist. He is of slim build and around 5ft 9ins.

“In addition, if you have dash-cam footage or private CCTV please check it to see if there is anything that could help us find Reece. Please also check sheds and outbuilding in the area in case he has sought shelter.”

Anyone who has seen Reece or knows where he might be is asked to call Police Scotland immediately on 101, quoting reference number 1348 of Sunday, 19 March, 2023.

five days on from his disappearance police are pursuing a new lead. They believe a man who was seen walking on a nearby road around the time Reece disappeared could help with their inquiries.

thank you for keeping thread updated on this man. I wonder why he went off? did he have an accident, or something else? so many seem to be going missing hiking or mountain climbing.
