Spain - Amy Fitzpatrick, 15, Malaga, 1 Jan 2008

A friend of missing teen Amy Fitzpatrick says he’s tempted to go to Spain and dig up a stable where she’s alleged to be buried.

Alan Quieros, who has only recently publicly disclosed a chilling final conversation Amy had with him the night before she vanished, says he doesn’t understand why no one has searched the site.

Last year Amy’s father Christoper and aunt Christine Kenny told how an anonymous source alleged that they would find her remains under Stable Number 5 in the derelict Hippodrome racetrack outside the Costa del Sol resort of La Cala de Mijas.

''The aunt of missing Amy Fitzpatrick has said all the family wants is closure on the 15th anniversary of the Irish teen’s disappearance.

Christine Kenny has said they will never be “right” until the truth comes out about what happened, while her dad Christopher urged anybody with information to come forward.

Amy vanished from Mijas, on the Costa del Sol in Spain, on New Year’s Day 2008.

She was last seen when she left her pal Ashley Rose’s home at 10pm where she was helping babysit Ashley’s brother in Riviera del Sol, near Mijas.

From there she was to return to her own villa – a 10-minute walk away.

At the time Amy was living with her mum Audrey, her stepdad Dave Mahon and her brother Dean.

Tragic Dean, 23, was stabbed to death by his stepfather Mahon on May 25, 2013.

Christine said this time of year is particularly difficult for her family and said Amy’s biological father Christopher is “broken”.

The aunt of Amy Fitzpatrick yesterday revealed how the missing teenager’s father is “completely broken” as they marked her 31st birthday.

Despite another difficult milestone for the family, Amy’s courageous aunt Christine Kenny met with officials at the Spanish Embassy in Ballsbridge, south Dublin.

Following the meeting, she said she will now write to the Irish embassy in Madrid in a bid to make progress in the case.

Christine told the Irish Mirror: “It’s about a young girl who is 31 today who should be here with her family.

“There’s no justice for it and no answers. We need to progress this case.”

Asked how her brother and Amy’s dad Christopher is doing, she said: “He’s completely broken. He’s just totally heartbroken.”

Amy was aged 15 when she vanished from the Mihas area on the Costa del Sol in Spain on New Year’s Day, 2008.

The 15-year-old had been living in Mijas Costa, near Fuengirola, in Spain with her mum Audrey, stepdad Dave Mahon and her since deceased brother Dean.

"The body was found in the hills near Mijas and they reckon the body has been there over a decade," Amy's auntie, Christine Kenny told the press.

She believes the remains may those be of her long-lost niece: "There is a possibility that it could be Amy, though, as there was a satchel bag found with the remains, and Amy used to have a similar type bag.

“The body was found in the hills near Mijas and they reckon the body has been there over a decade,” Christine says. “They found a skull and other body parts.

“They reckon, though, from the bone structure that it’s of a woman aged between 25 and 30, or thereabouts. But it takes ages for that type of thing to be dealt with.

Her aunt Christine Kenny said; "We are convinced there are people out there who know exactly what happened to Amy, especially her friends, but they are just too scared to say anything.

"We believe they have crucial information but are just all too terrified for whatever reason to get involved.

"Poor Amy never stood a chance. She was 15 year old when she disappeared and as far as we are concerned still a child.

"But the Spanish police never launched a proper full investigation to find her and treated her as a missing person case.

"They never interviewed people that they should have interviewed and this is why we keep asking for the case to be upgraded to a murder probe.

"We do not believe Amy is alive. We just want to find her body, bring her home and give her a proper Christian burial.
