Officials have clues to the identity of a man whose headless, armless and legless torso was found in the plush suburb of Barrington Hills, the fifth dismembered corpse dumped in area in the past 16 months.
Torso was found Sunday evening by a horseback rider.
The torso had a "clean cut" across the midsection, separating it in two, police said. They said the cut apparently was made with a saw or a sharp knife. "Whoever did it did it deliberately," Schuld said.
The body's severed legs were found near the torso but a starch of the area failed to find the missing head and arms.

Circumstances: Stephen Lund was last known to be living in Tampa, FL. He told his family in Illinois he would be home on July 4, 1979 but never arrived. He was believed to be with Suzanne Schultz (MP 6635) who is also missing. Suzanne told her family she would be home on August 4, 1979. Stephen and Suzanne never arrived to their destinations and have not been seen since. Suzanne's U-Haul trailer was located, abandoned in Chicago in September, 1979.

Assuming this UP could be Stephen, maybe the reason his arms were never found was because of the tattoos?

Staring at the picture for a solid minute, confused as to what I'm supposed to be seeing. Finally read it's supposed to be a headless torso. Wow. I thought it was a pile of sticks or rocks.

But even knowing what it is supposed to be, it still looks like a blob of ??? next to cables.

Joseph Caliva disappeared in August 1979.
At the time, he worked for Chicago Streets and Sanitation.
“He was gone for about four days when we started to realize something was wrong, my dad started to realize something was wrong because he didn’t show up at work,” Gressick said. “It was four days past his paycheck, which would have been on the first.”
Gressick said her family searched for her brother and didn’t immediately fear the worst.
“I would say at least two or three weeks after he disappeared, they probably were holding out hope that he was staying with a friend or something like that because that was his nature,” she said. “He might have stayed at a cousin’s house, or something. They probably held off and then finally filed a missing person’s report.”

In 1979, a boy in Illinois found the charred remains of a decapitated man. The victim has finally been identified.

The remains found by a boy who was horseback riding have been identified through DNA and forensic genealogy as those of Joseph Caliva.

She said that knowing the remains are his has provided some closure, but now she wants to know what happened to him.''
