Australia Samantha Murphy, 51, last seen leaving her property to go for a run in the Canadian State Forest, Ballarat, 4 Feb 2024 *Arrest* #9

True, but it seems every MSM outlet is reporting he's not cooperating and has given a "no comment" to police questioning. To me, that doesn't sound like an innocent person's actions. MOO

If you were innocent, you would be doing everything to clear your name

You would be in shock to think the police have accused you of murder

And what ever you could do to help the police, you would be doing

No innocent person would be wanting to stay in prison

And go through a stressful court case

Innocent until found guilty. He has a right to remain silent and we should not be judging him for exercising his rights.
Absolutely I agree the accused has the legal right to silence. However in my personal opinion, it takes a remarkable level of composure to remain silent for so long, regardless of the alleged accused’s guilt or innocence. I can only imagine that most people would crack under the pressure of wanting to “set the record straight” (from their perspective at least)?

To me, the accused’s level of self control in saying nothing seems remarkable for someone whose alleged offense suggests the exact opposite…. ?!

"Samantha Murphy:

Surprise

as police make sudden change in search for missing mother and bring in

cadaver dogs for the first time.

Teams of officers focused their search on Enfield State Park, 30 kilometers south of Ballarat,

but another search team was also working 25 kilometers away, in thick bushland in the Durham Lead Nature Conservation Reserve.

The nature reserve is just south of Buninyong, where Ms Murphy’s phone was last detected by mobile phone towers at 5pm on the day she disappeared.

Thursday was the first time search teams used highly trained cadaver dogs, brought in by New South Wales Police, since the investigation began.

They are specially trained to be able to sniff out human remains and corpses, even in extreme conditions."

Hope these lovely doggies get all their favourite treats, after their hard work.
Their owners/carers will know what they love: whether a ball, toy, cuddle and a restful night, looking forward to their next adventure, in searching for 'what they have been trained' to find.

Their carers seem to be women :)

As the photo above shows.

It would be symbolic if women found Samantha at last.

It would also be beautifully and tragically touching (and ironic) if it eventuates that a doggie helps to find Samantha and bring her “home”, given Samantha’s love of animals (and commitment to returning lost animals to their owners and homes). :(

Hoping the doggies can bring Samantha and her family some sort of closure and peace in these horrific circumstances.

I think if I'd been arrested when innocent of the accused crime, I'd be in shock. If I was also told that anything I say can be used as evidence in court, I might be inclined to say nothing too. I'd be saying, "I didn't do it" plenty though.

I just hope, at this stage, that they find SM for her family.

I think that at least one of the dogs has a male carer. You can see the dog being let out of the ute by his male handler at the :25 sec and the :57 sec marks in the news video in this link.

This Age article says that there are two cadaver dogs from Sydney working the search zone for Samantha.

imo

I think we are nearing to the End of this macabre Search Saga.

The Enfield States Park seemed to be the final stop for Samantha IMO.

Until the proper, dignified Farewell given by loving Family and friends.

Power to searchers!
The end is near,
nearer by every second!

I think the VICPOL are getting closer

They wouldn't be wasting big $$$$ getting these specialised dogs brought in

Unless they had a strong lead

Ooops!
And here I was convinced of only women handlers judging by the photo

But ONLY 2 dogs???

Is it so expensive to train a cadaver dog?
I have NOT the slightest idea about these matters.
