This UID doesn't have much to go on. Age span really large. Brown wavy hair....matches half the woman in Texas. I found this young lady missing out of Missouri City (close to Houston), not that far from San Antonio. I was particularly drawn to the pointy nose. Any thoughts or opinions on this possible match.

I think the eyes and nose look pretty similar, but the face shape is definitely a good bit rounder. Also the lips are different, but it seems like the artist may not have had much info to go on in terms of features? They do have very similar facial proportions I think, other than the UIDs face being wider.

You're right there really isn't much info at all on this unidentified woman. I'll try searching a bit and see if I can find any more info. Found this link but there is nothing that isn't in the DoeNetwork page- it just lists cause of death, weight, etc all as unknown. The picture is a bit larger and clearer though on this Texas website.

Good evening Lorelei. I think this one will be tough unless the reconstruction is pretty close. With the wide age span and very general description it won't be easy. It doesn't state what condition the remains were in, so you're right, they might not have had too much to go on. Maybe at some point the Doe Network page will be updated and more info will be given. The pointed nose stood out to me because the nose on most of the missing Hispanic females was generally more rounded. But I will keep looking for other possibles. Maybe we will get lucky.

Hmm... estimated time between death and finding is nine months, between estimated time of death and actual disappearance is fourteen months, which means the time of death estimate has to be quite a ways out.

Also Claudia has distinctive dentals that should have been compared (obviously hers are available, and they must have the UID's). Both are in Texas so there shouldn't be any difficulty with agencies (only 120 miles apart).

I think it's one of those cases where everything we have matches but there must be more too it or the identification would have been made already. They do look a lot alike though.

The timeline doesn't really match, but I think the facial features, especially the nose and lips are very close. In addition, Elia was on her way to Texas.

That the UID died in January 2007 is only an estimation. Could that be wrong?

Here is the side-by side.

Doe Network gives pretty wide estimates for the vital stats on the UID. They give an age range of 13-33 and a height range of 5'2" to 5'8" (which is pretty useless, as that range encompasses probably 3/4 of the women in the U.S.). NamUs has the age range narrowed down to 19-28, and the height at 65". This is still fairly close to Heather's vital stats.

The time frame is pretty reasonable as well. And of course, the geography is good as they are both San Antonio TX cases.

I was Googling Heather's name, and I came across (apparently) her uncle's website. It appears that this guy had a children's TV show that ran in San Antonio in the 1970's and early 80's (sort of a Captain Kangaroo/Bozo The Clown type character). He has a photo of his family (taken 2004), including his neice, "Heather Marie DuPriest". The woman in the photo appears to be the same Heather.

Texas DPS still lists Heather as missing: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/mpch/MissingPersons.asp?Letter=D (scroll down to the bottom of the page for DuPriest) ...I don't know how accurate their listings tend to be as far as being up to date, though (??)

This match seems really solid to me, with a couple of caveats... a. I'm a total newbie at this and b. it seems like they would have thought of trying these two for a match right away, with same year, same location, timelines match up, etc.... so maybe Heather has already been ruled out as this UID. Seems like it'd be worth checking. JMO as always.

Regardless of whether or not she has been ruled out, it is clear that Texas DPS is aware of it. They are pretty well-organized, so I am sure that they will pursue it to resolution (if they have not done so already)

What does everyone think of Jennifer Apreciando? The eye colour and hair colour match, she went missing a few months before estimated death in Texas (where the UID was found), the remains were skeletal so won't show the tattoos Jennifer had.
