Here is another New Britain young female gunshot victim from the early '90s. I wonder if she has anything to do with the other New Britain Jane Doe and Tolland Jane Doe.

The Doe Network:
Case File 705UFCT

I wonder if they have looked at Brenda Louise Condon.

Timeframe and vital stats are all good. She has a slightly hispanic appearance (to correspond to UID's "possibly hispanic" ethnicity)

The UID's dental info says "She had a small tooth protruding from her mouth". BLC's teeth are clearly crowded and out of alignment, although it is not clear whether she has a "small protruding tooth".

Her facial shape is way off from the recon, but I've seen plenty of recons that aren't even close. (See Porchlight's list of ID'd Comparisons)

Are we talking about teeth that look like this gals? (She doesn't fit, she's too young, she would have only been 19 in 1991.) It would have been nice of them to mention which tooth. I'm guessing they mean a baby tooth that never fell out and an adult tooth grew behind it?

I just left a message with NBPD, asking whether Brenda Condon has been ruled out. I also requested a rule-out listing if one is available.

Thanks Lorelei.

From what I can see, the UID's teeth look close enough to Brenda's that I think this should be looked at (if it hasn't already). They both have the same condition with the upper-right lateral incisor (#7), in that it is crowded back toward the inside of the mouth. I wish I had a clearer photo of Brenda's teeth.

I received a call from Sgt. James Wardwell of New Britain PD. However, I was in Costco when I received the call, and didn't have access to my computer. I wrote down his number and I will call him back tomorrow morning.

Meanwhile, I found a website dedicated to Brenda Condon, and it has a much higher resolution photo of her.

http://www.brendacondon.com/case.htm

With the higher resolution photo, I can do a comparison of her teeth to the Jane Doe.

Another interesting bit of info from the Observations section of Brenda's website. It is speculated that Brenda's case might be connected to the disappearance of Cindy Song. Cindy was reportedly seen in Philadelphia shortly after her disappearance , 200 miles East of where she was apparently abducted. If this Jane Doe is Brenda, then she would have been transported a couple of hundred miles east from where she disappeared, just as Cindy Song apparently was.

I just sent Sgt. James Wardwell an e-mail with all of the relevant links. He didn't have a rule-out listing, and he didn't know if Brenda Condon had been looked at because the case file is several boxes.

carl-i also read unsolved ct quite a bit....
this jane doe was found on the railroad tracks in a garbage bag, and she is also believed to be hispanic like the two other women (new britain doe & tolland doe). have you had any further contact with LE pertaining to this case and if they think its tied to new britain & tolland? it seems as if the unsolved ct site links these three cases together...? maybe its b/c of the geography.
there was a blurb about a human leg found one town over on a golf course, also in the same section on the site.
i'll have to check this one out! -z

I talked to him this morning.

He wasn't as chatty as he was yesterday, when he thought I was from another LE agency. The conversation this morning was pretty brief.

While working on other cases, I just ran across Christina Jeanette Chandler, and realized that her teeth are spot-on to this Fafnir Jane Doe, and much more so than Brenda Condon.

It even appears (although not completely clear) that she has the same thing going on with her "small protruding tooth" between her upper-right-front (#8) and her upper-right-canine (#6)

The vital stats aren't as spot-on, but they aren't completely off either. She even somewhat resembles the reconstruction.

Just contacted James Wardwell of of New Britain PD. Brenda Condon was ruled out on Dentals.

I forwarded him an e-mail summarizing the case for Christina Chandler. He wasn't able to tell me if she had looked at her yet because he doesn't keep a concise listing of people whom has looked at. The names are scattered through his case file.

But he will look at it, and I will call back in a couple of weeks for follow-up.

The resemblance of the reconstruction and Susan Cappel kind of weird-ed me out. Susan would have been around 29 in 1991; there are other many inconsistencies...however Susan's case is quite odd so who knows. I'm basing this on resemblance only.....

She does look like the recon, but her teeth are not close at all. If you look at Jane Doe's teeth, they are severely crowded. And on her right, she has that little tiny tooth up near the gumline and another incisor behind it. The right canine sticks straight out and hooks downward. You don't see any of that crowding and teeth going in strange directions with Susan Cappel's teeth.

BTW, I just realized that I didn't log it in here, but a couple of days after I submitted Christina Chandler to New Britain PD, I also submitted her in to Alice Buchanan of Texas DPS. I e-mailed her a copy of my close-up comparisons, and explained how when you go tooth-by-tooth, they look identical. She said "yeah, I see what you are seeing".

Although the UID's teeth appear to be spaced wider, I believe that that is just an illusion created by a difference in camera angles, and the fact that the UID's upper lip covers more of her teeth than Christina's lip does.

Alice said that they have dental records on Christine Chandler, and she would contact New Britain PD and arrange for a dental comparison. I get more of a sense of interest from Alice than I do from the New Britain detective. In a week or so, I'll call her back for a follow-up.

New Technology Heating Up Cold Case
Monday, Jun 27, 2011

The New Britain Police Department is looking to some new technology to breathe new life into a 1991 cold case.

Right now, police only know her as Jane Doe. It’s been that way for the last 20 years after she was found covered in blankets on Myrtle Street in New Britain wearing a white dress with a panda bear print.

That's good news. I always hated that reconstruction because aside from the teeth, I know that it probably looks nothing like the decedent.

I live in New Britain, and just saw the article in the local media about this case...I had never heard of her before, but I guess that's not too surprising, as I was just a child when this woman was first found.

I know the area where the body was found, and while it's not the best part of town, there are definitely enough people walking around over there, as many don't have cars. I'm wondering how she could've been there a few months without anyone coming across her...?
