THIS is nothing more at an attempt to establish JB's ineffective representation. When a member of your own team cites your youth and inexperience (despite the fact that JB has been through this before) as an excuse....it is nothing more than puffery.

Cheney Mason is leading the appeal plan by throwing JB under the bus. AND...we know from statements made by JB himself that he has no problem with his reputation if it helps his client.

Seriously...does the defense team underestimate the ability of "John Q. Public" to do google searches. This is Oscar worthy.....and I don't mean the gold statue...I mean the garbage can on Sesame Street.

HHJP: "Bailiff please instruct the guards to escort inmate KC Anthony to the court room."

CASH IT MR. ASHTON and don't fall for this poor pitiful young 40 something BS -- his own behavior has already done his 'career' more harm that the sanctions. That was actually the best thing for his career -- if he can get his head out of his ego long enough to change his ways.

I am completely Floored with this at the moment. The defense team just seem like a group of bumbling buffoons and is being totally PETTY!

This all reminds me of high school.

WESH just reported they HAVE a copy of Baez's check and a letter written by Mason to Jeff Ashton asking him to consider NOT cashing it..he also asks Ashton not to oppose their Motion for Reconsideration

The Reporter did state that the SAO Office said the check and letter are not going to be released as Public Record BUT when the Court Admin received it, he said they did pass it on to him (reporter).

When I first read this at 5:20, I laughed. I thought you were making a joke.

Sounds like Mason (who once called ASA Ashton Ignorant in Court) is "pleading" with Jeff to be kind to Baez.
And NOW Baez's Youth and Inexperience come in handy for them....EYES ROLL

that only problem with this scenario is that the ENTIRE defense team is cited for ineffective counsel. I asked AZ about this on the legal thread and here is her answer:

The defense has been trying to prevent and hinder the prosecution's ability to do their job, time and time again. FINALLY Ashton had enough and had to have this settled by the judge. The judge granted his motion but didn't even go as far as the $500 a day penalty!

On what planet would it make sense for Ashton NOT to cash the check?! It was his motion! And now he's supposed to spare Baez humiliation?

Cash the check Jeff! Do not wait another minute. Geez. They will NEVER respect you in the morning -- as a matter of fact if you acquiesce they'll just laugh at you behind your back... sucker!

Kealing said Mason is trying persuade Ashton not to oppose a defense motion asking Chief Judge Belvin Perry to reconsider Baez’s contempt-of-court fine.

Which made me made wonder:

1. Are Baez and Mason talking to each other?

2. Did Baez give Mason the blessing to send the letter?

3. Does Baez have enough money in the bank to cover the check?

4. Why did Mason put these thoughts in writing — which are now in the public record?

5. Why would Mason call attention to Baez’s youth and experience?

Wowsers .. I can't get over this one.

Here's the check, but don't cash it yet cos my pay hasn't gone in yet, it should be in there Friday, but if it's not that means it might not be in there until like Monday or Tuesday .. so maybe wait 'til Wednesday to be safe OK?

Can you still mark on the thingie that I paid it though? Don't want to get in any more trouble with Perry as I have a couple more favors to ask this week and I reckon he seemed a little bit off me last time. What do you think?
