I lost power at the very beginning of Katrina and Gustav,
however, this time I had power the entire storm except for
2 hours in the middle of the night. It was very interesting
to watch the storm outside and at the same time watch
the radar on tv. Praying everyone is doing ok, and hopefully,
all will have power restored asap.

How much I'd give for a press conference from LE just to reassure everyone that they're still moving forward with the investigation and that the case isn't silently going by the wayside.

Jaren's memorial will have to be moved elsewhere HurricaneAngel, that area was destroyed:
"Early assessments in the county found that the Washington Avenue Pier was destroyed and several boats sank at the Pleasure Street Harbor."
We will need to get in contact with Jaren's family later to see where they want it located.

HurricaneAngel, how are you doing otherwise? I hope you're safe.

Very thoughtful and kind of you to remove Jaren's memorial. That is really touching. I know that area got it pretty bad.

We're okay over here in Biloxi. A tree down at our place (we moved our cars JUST in time!) and casino row flooded, but most is receding and our curfew is up. Grateful!

Maybe Jaren's brother-in-law that posts here will suggest a spot for the memorial..thanks again for moving it.

Worried about you, hurricaneangel. Check in if you can.

Conditions are deteriorating in NOLA now. The rain is really starting to come down on this side of town near the river. Power is out all around us.
everything ok at home. i am back. spent 3 nights at work on an airbed. jaren's memorial still safe in my vehicle. if not this weekend i will put it back up next weekend ! thanks for thinking of me. still raining and thundering out there.

oh heck. well i will try to drive out later on if weather lets up.
will need to see how bad it is. there is no pier there though. they may have meant the dunbar pier. washington has the rip-rap road going out into the water. it usually holds up good.
i wonder if the shelter where jaren's cross was is gone . i will try to check on this. will be going to michigan this week. be back next saturday. i bet after the clean up it can go back to the same place.

It was so very thoughtful to save Jaren's memorial. I bet her family is/would be really touched if they knew.

Hope everyone in MS and LA are doing well. You've been on my mind all day.
it is an honor. and i felt like Jaren was riding in my van with me in the passenger seat smiling ,with the cross and wreaths and other tokens in the back seat.
yes family knows i have it.

The area around HWY 603 and HWY 90 is showing major flooding in Bay St. Louis according to news articles and Google Map images I've looked up. And one article said there were boat rescues to my apartment complex. Wow, the water must be insanely high. I guess I won't get to return home tomorrow as planned :(
i am back it looks ok here. nothing like katrina. just a big giant wet storm. some flooding.

maybe silence is good. some of the best investigations do not let alot of info out to the media. it is probably best. but it is excruciating for everyone who cares.

i hope all my ws friends rode the storm out safely and pray their loved ones and property are safe and dry.

I would say that it is a total coincidence, but I really don't think it is!

Stay safe too! :hills:

At least the perp is no longer around in THAT case.

Something has to break wide open soon, or this may become a lukewarm case, but I can confidently state there are many of us who will not give up on Justice 4 Jaren! I am so offended by how the case has been moving lately, if you get my gist.:banghead:

God bless you, hurricaneangel, and your screen name says it all! I have a lump in my throat over the kindness you have shown for Jaren and her family in taking care of such an important remembrance. :takeabow::heartbeat:

good to hear!

Hopefully Jaren's family is keeping pressure on LE and that keeps the LE working hard. Hope the family is getting regular updates. You see/read about cases that were solved because of the family's resolve and relentlessness.

Question: because of the hurricane, will that wash away any evidence that could be on any of the piers that she might have dropped off from? Or, has LE investigated these and gotten enough evidence they need? I hope it's the latter.

i hope u can see the pic i took today of the memorial site . it is just to the left of the pavillion. not too much damage here. the pavillion had a little roof damage and the road was blocked off with metal barricade cuz part of it washed away. i will go and replace the cross and gifts next weekend i hope if i can get thru.i will walk thru.

i hope your apt is ok . honestly i drove from biloxi to bsl and thru waveland and not as bad as expected. i will have u in my thoughts.

hopefully no more storms so media and le can focus on jaren !

i honestly think jaren was stabbed by the worthless scumbags while fighting tooth and nail. motive i think was robbery. so....i think it happened in louisiana pretty quick after she was last seen alive ,then they drove to the coast and discarded that precious girl's body into the sea from a pier .
it bothers me so much to even say this,it enrages me. i cannot imagine how her family, fiance and close friends feel. i have hot tears pressing at the back of my eyes now.

i think that evidence is long gone. but i believe they were smart enough to go get it early on. have faith ! i recall a rain a few days after jaren 's body was found onthe beach.

Well, your friend Isaac has made its way to St. Louis and it's still spinning off tornados. Under a warning now.

o/t ~ My heart is saddened by what Robin Roberts, host on GMA, is going through. I've been a fan of hers for years and have been praying for her procedures to restore her health. This morning they announced her mother passed away. This is right before Robin and her sister are doing the bone marrow transplant. I know they are strong people but how much can one take?

What I want to know though, as Robin refers to her beloved home in Christian Pass, MS often, was this area hit hard by Isaac? Could it finally have been too much for Robin's mom to endure?

Suffering comes in many shapes and forms. That said, when there's life there's hope and I'm certain Robin will get through her present trials.
