It's hard to say. The website for John Doe does not list his approximate death date. so I do not know if he was found soon after death, or awhile later.

It's interesting to me that this case is listed on the Maricopa County site. Lake Havasu is in Mohave County, about 200 miles northeast of Phoenix (which is the county seat for Maricopa County.) The border between California and Arizona actually runs right through the middle of Lake Havasu, so that if you take a boat from one shore to the other, you cross state lines.

This man easily could have been from California, Arizona or Nevada. All are equally likely with Havasu, as it's a popular weekend destination for people in all three states. When I get a little time I am going to browse Doe and some of the other sites.

thought I'd compare the pics and post them. I think Thomas Manizak is the best match.

How about this guy--time frame is right, similar nose structure:

Las Vegas is about 165 miles from Lake Havasu too.

Ok-my thoughts on this guy:

He is wearing a boating shirt
He was found near the Colorado River, by Lake Havasu, which is a big boating area.
There seems to be several accidents/deaths in this area because of drinking and boating. I wonder if they were able to tell if he had been drinking?

I know the dates are off, but if he was homeless etc he could fit:

Also--I see they have fingerprints and dentals, but what about DNA? If he were mummified, would they be able to see tattoos?

I checked with Ell, a member of Porchlight, about this John Doe. She said that Trevor Angell had been considered by Doe Network but there is uncertainty as to whether he's been submitted as a potential match.

She also said that these men have been ruled out:

Kinsey Otto

Edward Winans

Joey Ledlow (suggested by Julessleuther in the post right above this one)

Height, age, weight range are in line. UID was found in AZ, and Troy lived in AZ. The body was found in October of 2000, and Troy disappeared in January of that year. The victim is said to have been dead for only a few months, so that's the main stretch.

Trevor George Angell

With Trevor, the age, height, weight, and time frame all match up to the UID. The victim was dead 1-2 months, and was located in October. Trevor disappeared in September. He was from Nevada, but that's on the border of Arizona, and he was a truck driver who traveled.

Joey Gale Ledlow

Joey is also from Arizona, just like the UID, and his height, weight, and age are on point. He disappeared in August, which is two months before the UID was found, and is how long the UID was deceased. This one seems like a fairly good match except Joey is said to have a lot of tattoos. It doesn't say anything about the UID having tattoos or not. The unidenitified man was wearing jeans, as was Joey when he was last seen.

Thank you for the link :)

John William Troyer is definitely as much a possibility as any of the others. He matches up with all the criteria but the age, but it's only a little off.

I like the possible Trevor match.
UID could easily be from California. A lot of "river rats" live in Cali but go to Havasu on the weekends and his shirt suggests he was into boating. Some wild stuff goes on in Havasu. I doubt this was a place he was just dumped. Proabably there to party or boat, camp, etc.

Yeah, Trevor's occupation and shirt match him with someone who would travel around alot, but I can't decide which of these is the most likely match that would be worth calling in.

I started looking for a match on this and the first one that popped up for me was Troy Moncrief. I see that you guys already came up with that. Was he submitted?

I looked for.this on NAMUS and found nothing...
