MA MA - Debra Cressotti, 29, Blandford, 30 April 1985

I found another article, and a photo of Debra in this Sunday Republican article dated 24-Jan-1982, it says that Debra (spelled "Deborah" in the article) was a breeder of Shar-Pei dogs. She had another dog, a Weimeraner named Blaze.

This is the same Debra, as her husband "Ben" is mentioned, and the hometown of Blandford is also mentioned.

ETA:
She and her dogs were also featured on the NBC Today Show on 13-May-1983.

Unfortunately, we would probably have to pay to see the clip.

Yep - Debra Balcom is Debra Cressotti. I found this 19-Dec-1988 entry in the Legal Notices section of the Springfield Union. She is described as an "an absentee, whose last known address was in Blandford".

It appears that Benjamin Cressotti (apparently her husband) put the notice in the paper to collect a fire insurance claim on a property to which Debra was listed as a co-owner.

nice find Carl. so Debra was missing (hence the designation as absentee) in 1988 and Blandford was her last known address (at least in terms of property ownership).

Hmmmmmm.

http://blog.masslive.com/campaign_d...ero_releases_records_of_court_experience.html

This article, detailing Hampden County District Attorney candidate Brett Vottero's prosecutorial experience lists the 1994 prosecution of James and Ben Cressotti for arson.

100 Significant Cases prosecuted in Hampden County by former Assistant District Attorney Brett J. Vottero

BBM

It doesn't say whether Ben Cressotti was convicted, but he was prosecuted. I wonder if that is connected to the 1988 fire insurance claim mentioned above.

I don't know what to think of this circle of characters but it looks like nothing was boring up there in Massachusetts:

http://www.myspace.com/clubkaosspringfield/blog/324506207

(article menntioning Nicholas and his father Benjamin with reference to a bar that Benjamin used to run. bar was called Razzl's)

here is an article mentioning Razzl's being shut down by the city of Springfield in 2000 and events surrounding its former owner, retired chiropractor Angelo Della Ripa:

http://www.masslive.com/holyoke/lif....ssf?/base/news-2/1299658513136790.xml&coll=1

(only part of the article is accessible)

no conclusions from any of this but like I said, nothing was boring up there.

So long as we are talking about the Cressottis (and some of their business partners) here is the outcome of that strange trial where Angelo Della Ripa, the chiropractor and former owner of a bar that was managed by Benjamin Cressotti, was a star witness:

http://www.masslive.com/news/index.ssf/2011/03/ronald_kogut_and_david_chalue.html

this is an interesting bit about Della Ripa and "animal chiropractic" in CT:

http://www.dir.ct.gov/dph/hcquality/Physician/007-CHIROPRACTOR/007-000162/19920810000017.pdf

he was also an owner of 2 businesses and the oficial correspondent for those businesses was located in Windsor, CT:

again no conclusions but an entertaining read if I don't say so myself.

Webrocket. I like the way you're thinking. Certainly, the crew of characters there in Mass is unsettling. I read Lillian Gorski's obituary and read it the same way as Carl... she clearly is still missing.

Where is Debra's family? The residence where Debra lived with Ben was suspect to arrson and Ben was put on trial for that arrson... Seems eerie to me... Certainly don't want to jump to conclusions as I'm sure the authoraties investigated this angle.

I just have this gut feeling that Debra never left New England alive.

I agree Webrocket... There was no evidence (boarding pass, flight manifest) showing that Debra Balcom/Debra Cressotti boarded a plane. Her truck in the parking lot at Bradly International was a ruse... Someone close to Debra must know the circumstances but for some reason are fearful to come forward. There seems to be a lot of untidy loose ends in this case

In 1985, she could have boarded using a different name. There's absolutely no way to tell.

p.s. I don't believe she did, either, but there's no way to rule it out.

Her family has been looking for her and would love to think she is alive and doing well...but unfortunately we don't think that that is the case. Mass State Police are collecting DNA from family.

Just bumping kittycat72's post up from last year. They are looking for her, but obviously they have some fears of their own.

ModNote:

There were alot of posts in the Lake Ponchartrain Jane Doe thread (in the UID Forum) pertaining to Debra Cressotti, but were unrelated her possible connection (now ruled-out) to LPJD.

So I created this MBNF thread for Debra Cressotti, and moved much of the info pertaining only to her to this thread.

Some of the info that pertained mostly to Debra, but alluded to LPJD, was copied over to this thread. So they appear in both threads.

I wonder who's DNA they used because her mother is deceased, her son is overseas, and her brothers are half brothers. My mother and aunt are her cousins x2 because two brothers married 2 sister's (two Balcoms married two Robinsons). They should have contacted my mother or aunt but they didn't. Her truck was found at Bradley International Airport. I was very young when she disappeared but always hoped we'd find out what happened some day. Her mother never gave up that she was still alive BTW. I hope this answers some questions.

Interesting question. Perhaps they had personal items from her vehicle, such as a hairbrush or dirty clothing from which they were able to extract DNA.

That is correct! Balcom is her maiden name. Her father, and uncle, were brothers. Arthur married Lillian and Ernest married Lillian's sister Mary. Cressotti is her, I believe, common law husband's name. I say, I believe, because I don't think they ever officially married.
