FL FL - Altoona, WhtFem Skeletal 126UFFL, 17-20, near Lake Dorr, Apr'84

I noticed that it said removed. But it's close enough to pique my interest. They might have misidentified it as completely missing. Or she might have had it removed completely during the 18 or so months that she was away from home.

A chip like that can be very painful and decays easily. If she couldn't afford a proper cap, she might have had it pulled.

I hope someone checks on a match. I think the Jane Doe really looks like this girl.

Called it in. I'll let you know when I hear anything.

Just seeing this thread.

Nader and Leichner are not matches. I remember their case well.its been almost 50 years since they went missing. This is the first missing person case I ever heard of as a child and I was fascinated with it. And terrified at the same time.

I think colleens case illustrates that this girl could have been taken from some other area of central fl and dumped where she was found. Colleen was found out near kississimmee (I think) but she went missing from Daytona.

I wonder where Oba Chandler was at the time UID was murdered and found?

Agency Case Number:

And possible match to

Emma Lorene Vaughn http://www.doenetwork.org/cases/689dffl.html
Agency Case Number: 47268L
NCMEC #: NCMC905680
NCIC Number: M121662608

Had a reply from Lake County Florida PD saying they had received my email and would look into it just now.

Great. I hope they get something that leads to answers for family members and possibly justice for the deceased.

Here is a side by side of the UID and Emma

The county where the UID was found (Lake) is a county right next to where Emma went missing from (Orange)

I contacted Dona Faber before about this UID when I thought Lisa Sexton could be a match, she got right back to me.

This seems to be clearly her to me. The mouth, the nose, the face structure and the hair, makes my arm hair stand up...
i have contacted Dona Faber before too about Launa Merrit. I believe her email address is no longer listed though...I am going to check if i have her email saved and i will ask her about Emma Vaughn

Yes. Thanks for spotting. I'm so glad they looked into it anyway.

On the 30th anniversary of being found an angel. I am hoping that you get your name back soon!

What about Rosario Teresa Gonzales? Auburn hair matches the UID (reddish-brown), and she was 20 years old. Height is 5" off and weight is slightly off, but that could be due to the fact that the UID was skeletal. She doesn't have a NamUs, her Charley Project page listed below.

Am I missing something that would definitely rule her out?

Looks like Emma Vaughn has been ruled out:

Frankie Hurst 1989 South Carolina
Emma Vaughn 1967 Florida

https://identifyus.org/cases/6037
Current list of rule outs as of 21 August 2017:
  • Lina Borges 1959 California
  • Christine Huyer 1960 Florida
  • Judy Martins 1955 Ohio
  • Launa Merritt 1966 New York
  • Mary Opitz 1963 Florida
  • Christina Smith 1964 California
Also, NCMEC released new composites for this girl; they look quite different from the others and closer to her estimated age: Altoona Jane Doe 1.jpgAltoona JD profile.jpg.
