:( How could any human with a soul harm that beautiful child? What kind of a world do we live in???

I sure hope all the pundits covering the JA trial and hoping for her death sentence do the same here. This poor baby was as innocent as one can be.

Extremely sad day...

Please Kansas fry this monster :stormingmad:

Probably dumb of me to still be holding out hope that acting on the father's request, he murdered mom and the guys because she was not being faithful to the jailed husband. Then took baby Lana to some relative's house and is just saying he killed her hoping the cops will not look very hard. Or just to buy time for the person holding her to get out of the area because they are now looking for a body not a live baby. At this point what does he have to lose? Not sure about DP in KS but with his previous record (BTW why was he out in society and not still locked up?) and now murder 1 x 3 he very likely will never be free again anyway (dp or lwop).

It is probably more realistic to think that he had already murdered the guys because they had or were (don't remember which) evicting him and when Kaylie and Lana showed up she discovered his crime so he murdered them too.

Very sad situation and I hope that LE is able to do what needs to be done for justice to be served to this pyscho.

I am also hoping he is lying (for whatever reason) about killing the baby too.

Here's the Lawrence Journal World account, updated within the hour:

Missing toddler presumed dead; 27-year-old Ottawa man arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder

(Lawrence is a university city about 20 miles north of Ottawa.)

Wow! Very informative article in regards to the criminal ties and providing the fact that Kaylie had divorced Lana's father in March. After reading it what little hope I had for baby Lana still being alive is pretty much gone. That poor baby.

It also diminishes my hope for justice in this case. It seems Kansas doesn't like to keep killers or those that attempt to kill incarcerated long at all. 4 years for killing a 19 year old woman. Way to be tough on violent crime Jayhawks

Agreed.

I am local to this case, and I work in Olathe, where Kaylie Bailey lived. I do not, however, know anyone connected to this case. It sounds like many of these people were heavily involved in criminal activity. So sad that there are a number of children mentioned in the article above that were fathered by various criminals. I hope that the remaining people involved with this shady group choose to change their lives before everyone involved is killed.

NOT victim blaming here, my thoughts go out to the families, but it is my hope that this horrific crime brings ongoing serious criminal activity in the area to a halt.

I also cannot imagine how the KBI did not find the bodies during their first search. How horrific for the friend that he had to make the presumed discovery and then go actually find the bodies for LE. It is time for KBI to start doing its job, both keeping criminals in jail and keeping citizens safe.

At least five mounted police officers, more than 25 officers and a helicopter are now searching the 3197 Georgia Road crime scene for 18-month-old Lana Bailey.

Sister of 2005 shooting victim talks about man arrested in triple homicide

Steven Dale Free was trying to give Kyle Flack a break in 2005 when he offered the teenager a job helping him tear down and set up mobile homes, Free’s sister said.

“Kyle needed work, and Steve offered the kid a job,” Stephanie Ingram, sister of the late Steven Free, said. “But Steve said Kyle was being real lazy, and Steve was the boss, so he told Kyle he didn’t want to work with him no more. Steve told him to get on down the road.”

County attorney hasn't ruled out seeking death penalty in triple homicide

Franklin County’s top law official isn’t prepared to rule out seeking the death penalty against Kyle Flack, the 27-year-old man being held in Franklin County jail on suspicion of first degree murder in connection to an Ottawa triple homicide case.

With the clock ticking, Franklin County Attorney Stephen Hunting said his office has two days to file formal charges against Flack, who was arrested Thursday morning in relation to the triple homicide investigation at 3197 Georgia Road, Ottawa.

Flack apparently was in custody in Osage County earlier this week on unrelated charges, during which time authorities questioned him as part of the triple homicide investigation. Authorities apprehended Flack 2:30 a.m. Wednesday in Emporia, and later found Kaylie Bailey’s 2007 Toyota Corolla also in the city.

“Until this morning, when he was arrested, he was not in custody on Franklin County charges or anything of that nature,” Hunting said. “[Flack] was being held on charges out of a different jurisdiction for a different matter entirely. I believe it was Osage County.”
So earlier this week Flack was picked up in Osage County. Is there a chance he could have passed Lana off to someone there? Why would her little body not be near the other three? Maybe he is playing games with LE.

Flack is evil personified.
