Those local talking heads really aren't very good, are they? The one on the left seems to want to keep bringing up that the lawyer was involved in the Iran/Contra trials, but he gets his facts wrong and the guy has to correct him. Besides all of that, I doubt that half the viewers even know what the Iran/Contra incident was about or who was prosecuted or why.

Plus this commentator has complained about the weather several times and he jiggles his left leg constantly. (I have a relative who does this also. Drives me bonkers.)

Oh, give me Beth Karas! Or even Jenkasaurus.

Re: What Angela did or did not do. The only way the State will ever be able to charge her with murder is if Hemy agrees to testify against her. And even then, what with him having been found by a court to be mentally ill, how much could a jury rely on what he says without there being very strong corroborating evidence. Which there does not seem to be.

We don't know that she wasn't laying beside Hemy in one of those hotel rooms saying "I'll never get a divorce, but I sure wouldn't mind being a widow. That would be the perfect solution for both of us, wouldn't it?"

So that's it? What is the defense going to put on to counter?

OOh, I know! They could put on the NEW boyfriend. He could say he was sleeping with AS the whole time, so HN couldn't have had the affair, or the new would have known?????

He was. Her name was mentioned by AS in one of the tapes as one of the people at the house to help out.

As far as when the relationship started, I'm sure neither is telling. There have been those who believe he was the party she was desirous of being with when she suckered Hemy into killing Rusty.

One fact is known, though. His wife served divorce papers on him about the time Andrea testified at Hemy's trial. He escorted her away from the courthouse after she was kicked out for her antics/threats to Shayna. The wife was 6 months pregnant at the time.

Poor guy -- he forgot the # 1 rule: Never, ever pizz-off a pregnant woman. Pity-da-fool.

And he has apparently gotten no wiser since then... Something comes to mind here, er, um, oh yes, it's about from the frying pan into the fire, seems to me...

Speaking of her facebook, which one is her real one? The one that is just her first and last name or the one with her first, middle and last name? If you know that is.

I find it disgusting that Andrea hosted the baby shower for this man's wife when she was pregnant with their second child and had "playdates" for their children and then to turn around and have him live with her after Rusty is killed.

Looking at the big picture here and adding 2 + 2 it seems to me that AS set up HN to kill Rusty so she could move on with her life.

HN fell for AS tricks and treats all the way to prison. JMO

I'm beginning to think, in all seriousness, that his "mental illness" is for real. She did it to him. Yes, he was the killer, no doubt, but what part of him actually pulled the trigger? Poor fool. And his poor wife & family. For that...

This is a thought provoking post. And you do give the defendant the benefit of presumption of innocence in this trial.

I lost this presumption while watching her testify in the HN trial. She was self serving, self important and self absorbed. I believed within a very short time of working for HN she realized he was the perfect vehicle to change her life and she set him up to do her bidding and that was to kill Rusty.

I believe she kept herself available to HN just enough for HN to believe that if Rusty was not in the picture that AS would be with HN. I don't think it took much more for HN.

AS saw the vulnerability of HN (or even the mental illness) of HN.

I do believe this trial for the perjury trial is not what the State wanted but is a ramp up to a murder trial if HN is recovered from his mental illness and will flip on AS.

I was just thinking this same thing, Tipstaff... I, too, think the prosecutor was wise to take murder off the table -- for now at least. They just don't have enuff stuff to convince 12 jurors on what the law says must be used to make that type judgement and conviction, IMHO. It's got to be more than a feeling... And without HN, unless they dig up some big stuff that is unknown to the world at this time (IMO), it would never fly. What would even be probable cause to take to a grand jury for an indictment (assuming that is how it's done in Ga.)? They would have to have a mentally competent HN to testify, for starters.

Did the judge ever make a decision yesterday? Last I heard was all the legal mumbo jumbo the defense was putting on, and the judge not giving an answer.

I searched the press last night, and not a peep on suspected wit for the def.
Yesterday was a hard blow with damning evidence. I don't know if they can bounce back from that regardless of any character wits they may have.

Thanx for the links. I thought I was absorbing everything that wit was saying, and I realize now I wasn't paying as much attention as I hope the jurors were.
I understood she deleted the texts, but I didn't know when she did it.
And I really hate to admit this. I knew they were tracking her movement by cell tower, but I didn't catch that she wasn't near the school when she called her FIL.
I'm disappointed that even though I was watching it, I missed that information. I hope the jurors are smarter than I.

ETA: DUH They meant the texts from the day Rusty was murdered were deleted. Not WHEN they were deleted. I did get that part. :floorlaugh:

The judge ruled against the dismissal of 6 charges and exclusion of testimony. This morning, at 9, we will hear arguments for a motion for judgment of acquittal. Trust me, the judge will not grant that motion, they rarely do.
