I think she most likely found something...if he confessed to her it would most likely not be enough for an arrest, and might not even be enough for a warrant because spousal privilege could be argued.

I think it also comes down to legal issues and the right to privacy...it depends on where they obtain DNA for reference. Depending on the company and what the consumer signs as rights to privacy limits (or doesn't limit) use to LE agencies.

How do we know they really "dismissed" the theory...they did not publicize the fact that it was a possible theory but it does not mean it was not one they were not pursuing behind closed doors. They could have dismissed it "publically" for a reason yet still pursued it...we will probably never...
