As a gun owner, I would never have pursued him in the first place. He was not threatening anyone and did not appear to be planning to threaten anyone. If I suspected him of a crime, I would have called the police. Period. That is responsible behavior IMHO.
Fair enough. At the very least, I hope people who are reading this and own firearms take the time to record the serial numbers. I know not everyone thinks of what could happen if their guns are stolen.

In the police report, these men admitted to already cutting Arbery off at another point. He had every reason to suspect they were out to harm him. He had already tried running away and they pursued him. IMO, he had no choice but to defend himself.
According the police report linked above, the defendant himself stated that Arbery turned and ran back the way he came, so they changed their route to cut him off. They pursued him, and IMO, he had every right to be terrified of them and to defend himself.

In a road rage incident, it is very likely that the participants were speeding up, slowing down, and passing each other on both sides of the cars. I have witnessed it firsthand. It is very possible.
