It was announced on 7/31 that the FBI was asked to assist. On 8/11 there was an update that everything had been turned over to the FBI. In the interview on 8/18 the sheriff said the FBI would have results back in 6-8 weeks. I'm not sure exactly when the 6-8 weeks started, but I am guessing it...
Just curious -- in your research did you find out if the $2500 is to hire just one searcher and a cadaver dog, or a whole team of searchers and dogs? Is Harry Oakes involved? Do you know how many days the search is planned for and what the distance is that will be searched?
If little Deorr...
You may know this, but there are 2 different Nates from East Idaho News who have reported on little Deorr. Nate Sunderland wrote the first article(s) and some follow-up articles. Nate Eaton did the video news report about the campground, the interview with the parents, the interview with the...
The phrase "crime scene" was brought up in regards to the person dumping cremains "in the middle of a crime scene". I am not clear if the sheriff meant just the reservoir area was a crime scene, or the entire campground. Anyway, this person was stopped on the way out, not on the way in, and...
It's the same page as the August search. The September search date is just a dummy date to keep the event page open. If you scroll down and see where the event host changed the date to September 26, she notes "still cancelled".
If you scroll down, you will see the event has been cancelled. They keep extending the date of the event so the event page doesn't close and they can keep up the conversations/arguments.
East Idaho News was unaware of the Thursday arrival date until the day of the interview with the sheriff. I called them the day before to clarify the timeline, I brought up Thursday, and (after a long pause) was told they had never heard that. I was also told about the "substantial" article that...
I agree that there are some 76 year olds who might be in great enough shape to be appropriate babysitters for a 2 year old in the wilderness near a creek. Since the GGF has health issues <modsnip>, I am guessing his ability to chase after a toddler might be quite limited.
Respectfully, I disagree. The hours before a child goes missing and the last person/people to see the child are very important, IMO. Having the wrong date could hamper the investigation as far as potential witnesses who may have seen something suspicious on Thursday and so on. What if someone...
I double-checked the interview and they said they were gone for only 10 minutes. Deorr said they searched for 20 minutes before calling 911, which adds up to 30 minutes. On the 911 call Jessica said he had been missing an hour. So, it is indeed an inconsistency even though it may be an "honest"...
Some of the inconsistencies stem from people who weren't there.
An inconsistency directly from the parents is the 911 call and the interview (missing for an hour, missing for 20 minutes)
After reading these threads, I'm thinking that if I had little kids and was going camping, I would make them dress in fluorescent glow-in-the-dark clothes and wear a GPS bracelet and life jacket at all times. :)
Maybe (or maybe not) that is how it is meant in this particular case, but POI isn't a completely innocent "no big deal" phrase in all cases (such as with Mark Redwine's designation as POI, as I pointed out a page or so back).
The news quotes about the "declining physical and mental health" which supposedly "ruled out" the GGF from the very beginning were just posted in the past page or two. I think it is just speculation that the mental health issues GGF might have could be dementia or Alzheimer's. I am not sure...
East Idaho News had posted an article saying the GGF was ruled out and that the other 3 were POIs. Was the GGF later added as a POI or has he never been named as a person of interest (I forgot)?
Bowerman said Reinwand, similar to Mitchell and Kunz, are persons of interest in this case...
The "rumor" I saw from Jessica's mother, which was posted in the comments under an article about Deorr on the KIFI News 8 FB page, said they arrived Thursday about 9:30pm.
It sounds like the parents, the GGF, and IR were all in fairly close proximity when little Deorr went missing. If the parent's "exploring" story is to be believed, it seems almost impossible for IR to be involved -- unless he somehow kidnapped Deorr without the GGF noticing, incapacitated him...
