Complaint being filed after vet, service dog told to leave hotel.

Currently the documentation available doesn't mean anything. People buy fake documents online. http://servicedogcentral.org/content/fake-service-dog-credentials I think that there is going to have to be some sort of national certification system. In the long run it would be less invasive...

Complaint being filed after vet, service dog told to leave hotel.

I've seen people brag about lying about their dogs being a service animal. Maybe it is regional, but I've seen situations where the dog was in no way a service animal being passed off as one. (A sick, coughing, shaking dog in a tote bag(not a carrier, a dirty tote bag), a dog pulling and...

Complaint being filed after vet, service dog told to leave hotel.

Exactly. That's why they distrust the real service dogs after dealing with pets or ESAs that are poorly trained and groomed and growl, or urinate on things. I know waiters who have had the so called service animals bite them. The people passing off their untrained animals as service animals...

Complaint being filed after vet, service dog told to leave hotel.

There are too many people passing off untrained pets as service dogs. Both sides reacted incorrectly. The hotel has probably been hit by fake service dogs before, so they are Leary of all dogs- real and fake. And while I understand that a tbi affects judgement, it doesn't give somebody a free...

Family wants to keep life support for girl brain dead after tonsil surgery #8

It's pretty common. As another person said, usually they have medical examiners to do the autopsies, but it doesn't appear that happened in this case. Here's a link. http://www.npr.org/2013/11/03/242416701/run-for-coroner-no-medical-training-necessary

GUILTY UK - Amrita Kaur, 22 mos, dies in fall from window, Bradford, 18 Feb 2014

Probably to make sure that there were no other victims in the house.

This is why coroners should be required to have medical training, not just be elected.

TX - Twin infants had bruises and broken bones

Diseases like brittle bone quite often get the parents accused of abuse when there really isn't any.

Family battling Children’s Hospital to bring teen home for Christmas

I read about the wheelchair, but I think that he's exaggerating, and that she's just too weak to be able to move her legs. I don't agree with what is going on, but we are only hearing one side because of medical privacy laws.

Family wants to keep life support for girl brain dead after tonsil surgery #8

I am wondering if it goes to court how they will find a jury with all the publicity the family has done.

Donations are only tax deductable if they are to a registered non profit. (That includes things such as schools, some kinds of public parks and some other things.) You can't just donate anywhere and get a tax deduction.

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

What isn't correct- a zoo in the US can't do anything major with an animal without approval from the accrediting organization. I think we agree on that. While "technically" they own an animal, but it's even less control over the animal than a parent has over a child. I really hope these...

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

This is misleading. In the wild there would be times of stress that would cause fewer pregnancies- such as lack of food, ect... Also, many of the offspring wouldn't make it very long, many wouldn't make it past birth. In captivity you don't have the dangers or stresses that animals in the...

Deadly flu strain hitting certain areas!

In California, the last number of deaths I saw was 202, and that doesn't include people over 65 or cases still under investigation. http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-flu-pertussis-california-20140207,0,2505450.story

Deadly flu strain hitting certain areas!

Vaccines don't last forever- that's why we're supposed to get boosters of certain ones on a regular basis. The reason it's the most common among the affluent, is because that's the population that does the least vaccinating. And while those who are vaccinated can get it (no vaccine is 100%...

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

I've read a couple articles that state that in Europe they don't agree with controlling breeding like we do in the US. So they aren't putting the females on birth control like they do here when they don't want them to breed. I can imagine this results in many unwanted offspring- it's a good...

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

I think that how they did this was very insensitive, but hunting is wrong, really? Obviously you've never known any responsible hunters.

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

A couple of steers would have been a lot cheaper. Especially as with zoos they don't actually own their own animals, they belong to the accrediting associations who have to approve everything that is done with them.

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

They couldn't accept the offer because the zoo doesn't own the giraffe. The accrediting organization does. The accrediting organization will not sell to an unaccredited park or zoo. They also are the ones who turned down the other transfer. None of this was taken lightly from what I have...

Young giraffe put down in Copenhagen for dubious reasons

I am wondering if there is something in his genetics that they didn't want the public to know about. Zoos need to keep up their accreditation in order to participate in trade and other programs with other zoos, so more information might come out.
