As a college student, I didn’t think twice about it and didn’t understand why other people would be concerned or think it was weird. It would have been very normal. As the parent, though, I would have (and have been) worried half to death.

I don’t think he drove 10 miles down a gravel road...the news reports are saying he was about 10 miles from/outside of downtown Luling, as a marker, just to give us an idea of the location.

It was reported that he was about 10 miles from downtown Luling, not 10 miles from civilization. And in a post up thread, Jason’s mom, Lisa, was quoted as saying that where Jason ended up was on a road leading out of town, that you have to turn off of to get to I-10. If you happen to miss that...
