I agree and that was precisely my point: unless you know kids intimately you can't see whether putting them to bed at 7pm is too early or normal routine. My guess is some people's reasoning seems to be that putting them to bed at 7pm is too early and they would not have gone to sleep at that...

You are right: not all kids sleep for 12 hours. Not all kids are the same, some need more sleep than others. I am just saying that to me it does not sound like extremely early to put a kid of 4 years old to bed. My kids are 6 years old and they go to bed at 7pm every night. Left to their own...

Oh, I don't know. From experience most kids that age sleep at least 12 hours at night. So putting them to bed at 7pm does not seem too early to me. Especially when on holiday: kids are excited and get sleepy early, is my experience. And who knows? Being on holiday may mean they missed their...
