I don't think they were attending a party. They were going to get the kids and leave to celebrate a birthday and then would be brigning them back to the guardian (paternal grandmother).

<modsnip> It looks like the paternal grandmother had guardianship over the kids. Who knows how their daily life looked, he could have been pretty active in their life without full custody if his mother allowed.

I have a friend who lives very close to the location they found the car, so this hits hard. IMO, the car did not get dropped there. Whatever happened to the women happened at the location they found the car.

Another twist in this story is that at the time she went missing her FaceBook was deactivated. Friends say she deactivated it a couple weeks prior to going missing. It was reactivated last Friday - June 5th - after she was presumably missing for 5 days.
