Habitual offender status increases punishment. If found guilty of the 2 current felony charges (likely more charges to come, clearly) JJC will be considered a habitual offender which could increase the ~10yr punishment to upwards of life.

JJC's facebook indicates he joined FB in May 2018. So, unless he has past accounts, they've been FB friends for no longer than 7 months. Several news outlets have referred to him as an "acquaintance", as have social media posts.

Several reasons: 1.) The police do not have a positive ID of the victim. If the partial remains are that of AY, all the circumstances add up. In the rare event they are not. The circumstances just became exponentially complicated. 2.) Because it seems the partial remains were found in a basement...
