Tney’ve conveniently left it out of the video of the press conference saved on their Youtube channel though, which will be the one viewed in future, long after the live broadcasts are forgotten, and the one being viewed right now, by millions worldwide who can’t watch Sky News live.
I think it...
Leaving it until after the funeral might mean having to put up with another couple of weeks of unwanted text messages, calls etc at the one time you really don’t need that kind of extra stress.
I’m not saying he necessarily knew the correct terminology himself and he might well have meant what was on the lock screen, but “wallpaper” also (and perhaps usually?) refers to the background image when the phone is unlocked, as in the picture behind the icons on your homescreen, as opposed to...
I think MWT is implying that it was the Jan 10th event that would have been reported on. If the press couldn’t have included any more info than that the police and an ambulance were there, due to not being able to report on medical/psychological issues, it would have raised further unnecessary...
The CCTV cameras on UK buses are focused primarily on the inside of the bus and the passengers, so yes, that Youtuber has filmed the ride themselves with a handheld cam IMO.
(above snipped by me)
JMO but I don’t think police would use the word “vulnerabilities” to refer to NB’s posting of her walks on FB or her public Strava routes etc, especially as they do not think there is foul play. I think the word “vulnerable” is fairly specifically used in these sorts of...
Police haven’t suggested that, that suggestion came from the entrepreneur whose company helped with the search, before he had agreed to help assist the search.
But the phone offers it as a device to connect to before you connect it manually, so it knows tne device is within range. I’d be massively surprised if there was no log on the phone of bluetooth devices that have come within range as possible connections to offer you in the Bluetooth menu...
Not saying the info in this link is necessarily accurate but it seems to suggest that, at least back in 2013, iOS was keeping a log of accelerometer/gyro data.

You can actually test out the capabilities of the gyro and accelerometer, and how it can show changes in your phone‘s height, by downloading a free phone sensor testing app from the Google or Apple store. The one I just used to test it out for myself is called Sensor Test, on Android, and is...
The gyro & accelerometer in a phone can also gauge relative height, from the force and velocity picked up by the accelerometer. They’ll know from the logs of that data when the phone moved downwards as N sat on the bench with it in her hand, and then when it moved downwards again when she placed...
They wouldn’t need to find the device itself. If you have a phone or tablet and another bluetooth device (speakers, headphones, smartwatch, another phone, whatever,) you can test for yourself how they could work out when the Fitbit left the bluetooth range of the phone. Switch on the bluetooth...
I wonder if it’s a regional/local way of saying it, as “socks tucked into jeans” obviously doesn’t really make sense (unless the jeans are turned up at the hem, with the socks tucked into the turn-ups, but that wouldn’t even be visible and would look the same as jeans tucked into socks.)
It’s probably been said early in the threads and I missed it, but if N was wearing wireless earbuds, they’d know exactly when they left the bluetooth range of the phone and, from the signal strength being received by the phone, how quickly they were moving until leaving that range, and whether...
No, I think you’re right that this is an error. As a native speaker, I thought it sounded wrong earlier today. I would phrase it as “jeans tucked into her socks” myself and have never seen “socks tucked into jeans” used elsewhere, as, like you say, it doesn’t really make sense that way round.
