    It would be great if the police confirmed the time of the ping. I know the Daily Mail very early on published it was 5pm but that doesn't make sense to me, i still firmly believe the ping was around 8am and that was the information that led to the searches that afternoon shortly after 3pm...

    I have enquired further into why the TVP might require a barrister at the forthcoming inquest. Apparently the police will be questioned by the coroner, and may well require legal advice as they are part of the questioning during the inquest - hence needing a barrister.

    At a guess i would say that fairly soon after the phone pinged at the cell tower then, for whatever reason, it was turned off - never to be turned back on again. If the phone had pinged, lets say, between 7 & 9 that morning then it would indicate that Samantha was indeed out running before...

    Just to be clear, the ping was from a cell tower near to the Buninyong golf course, it wasn't located at the actual golf course itself.
