I totally agree, it's a bit odd to hear some basically say "they should have known better".
One thing, I don't think they even all necessarily knew him for a long time, unless I'm missing something. We know JP went to school with him, but not the extent of how well they knew each other...
This is commonly considered a myth, which is the only reason I replied in the first place. Studies are extremely scarce globally and no links have been proven. I understand that's what the endocrinologist said... but federal laws in the US prevent studies on Marijuana, so its up to you to decide...
K2/Spice, which is called "synthetic marijuana", is not related in any way to marijuana. It's called that for marketing purposes. The substance is essentially an unrelated plant matter with chemicals sprayed on. Not natural.
Modern marijuana is certainly more potent due to selective...
This has been posted before in the last thread on this case, but good to have it here again for those that haven't seen it. The 3D view is pretty interesting as well.
Just curious - IF there is a valid drug connection, what would be the significance of the supply chain? If CD was a mid-level distributor (seems unlikely that he was pushing weight given there are no drug charges, and the amounts we know of were QPs), what is the theory of his suppliers...
You were saying a couple of different things in the same post. I'm just making the point that yes, they all made the same fatal choice... associating with CD in any way - the reason is irrelevant. I agree that JP fitting the crowd is also irrelevant.
Food for thought - this could have happened if they were all there to buy 4 pairs of shoes. Yes, shoes are not illegal in this state and weed is. Point is, we have the benefit of hindsight to better judge exactly what the "trouble" actually was. It wasn't weed...

Another interesting question which we may never have an answer for: did SK know exactly what was planned? (IMO CD had planned it, at least after he did JP). Definitely think CD was motivated by the kill, SK by the money. Curious if CD sold him on a robbery and ended up bringing him into...
I'm not saying he DID have the drugs, just that it would have made more "sense" to sell drugs than to kill 4 people for a relatively small amount.
Also not saying he had access to his parent's money. I too know plenty of kids who are from wealthy families and have sold drugs and stolen for...
Right, agreed - but with that same logic, I don't believe he needed the robbery money, straight up thrill-kill. I'm not saying the money wasn't an incentive - but I don't think there's much merit in the idea that he had a debt (or something) and this was his plan to repay it.
IMO, this makes absolutely no sense. Simply selling the drugs would have resulted in fast cast (though not quite as fast). The amounts we're talking about are negligible for CD and his family: $10k can probably be found between his parent's couch cushions even after the maid comes through.
If...
Typically there is a component of time (e.g. more than a month or two) over which the killings had to have occurred for it to be considered "serial". But this may be a flexible designation.
Yeah a 400k house in this area means you are either really wealthy, or really house-poor. And more likely than not, the latter - since if you are wealthy you probably aren't settling for a "lower-end" house around here.
I do agree, I'm not suggesting we "blame" mental illness, just that it has some bearing here from what we've seen/heard. Mostly wanted to argue against the idea of even mentioning entertainment media in any way as a factor. The only thing I feel should be "blamed" is the individual(s) involved...
