Hero boy, 4, dies after saving 3-year-old girl in pool

I was just reading about this. A tragedy. I noticed many people referring to "water wings" in the comments on this story. Not saying water wings were involved here (or not). Just want to say, parents, please don't use those silly water wings and think they provide anything but a false sense of...

Electronic cigarette explodes, badly injures user

Don't know yet. Idea was to eventually eliminate it, of course. But my concern is day to day still, at this point. Have to admit, "vaping" is quite enjoyable. You can get juice with any level of nicotine, including 0. So you can taper off. Will keep ya posted. No smelly clothes Can breathe...

Electronic cigarette explodes, badly injures user

Hi Nova! :-) People change them up to get a stronger "throat hit." Or to have the charges last longer. Or just because they have to tinker, I suspect. Hubby and I are using e-cigs after quitting tobacco. It is going great! I talked about it in Confessions of a Smoker thread, so won't repeat...

Electronic cigarette explodes, badly injures user

I have read in several reports that the exploding cig in this case looked to be a "mod," and that the investigators believe he had modified the device himself, improperly. Eve

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

Just have to add: RW's behavior led to DD's behavior, according to DD, employed by RW. RW allegedly ordered no search, fall in with my version of events. Then gave DD a place to live and more jobs. No one is saying DD is a hero or giving him a pass. But he is the one who has come forward...

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

That's the rub. It is obvious that DD was wrong and he says so himself. BUT RW was her husband. RW was the boat owner. Who had the biggest stake in the outcome? RW. I haven't seen anyone here give a pass to DD. It's just that RW's responsibility trumps his in this. IMO...

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

A decent husband would have called out for a search for his wife, immediately. I doubt CW really knew exactly what happened. He knew there was fighting. He later knew she was dead. He decided to let things lie and went along with RW's version of things. And so did DD, who, imo, also didn't...

145 Million dollar man John Hammergren, the CEO of the McKesson Corp.

I don't like government interference. I hate the idea that salaries would ever be regulated by government. I believe in free enterprise and individual achievement. Because these individuals have no conscience, no common sense, no view to the future, no regard for their employees -- we are...

145 Million dollar man John Hammergren, the CEO of the McKesson Corp.

I wish I knew what "we" could do about this. It is so disgusting and just goes on and on. What is the answer? Eve

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

Aw, Chewy, he said he lied, that they didn't seek help as they should have, at RW's direction, and that he allowed himself be under RW's control afterward. Is this something someone would lightly admit? There's a lot of blame to go around, I suspect, but he has come forward. You say to sell...

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

Agree. Problem with all three of them, their "stories" or lack thereof, and yes, even CW. But DD is the one who is "confessing" something here. Is this kind of publicity along with what has to be a few meager book sales (if that), really worth this exposure after all that time? Eve

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

Because the "alcoholic and liar" is the one coming forward with what he says is the truth and says he was lying, that's why. His statements are against his own interest, i.e. he could have continued the silence and no one would have brought it up in a significant way again. Eve

CA - Natalie Wood, 43, drowned off California coast, 29 Nov 1981

I wonder what DD has to say about the dinghy. Did he see it, was it gone when he found that NW was gone? I assume if RW decided to cover up her going overboard, he detached dinghy and set it loose. Ugh. I believe CW decided long ago to completely stay out of this. Maybe he justified it in...

GUILTY NC - Kathleen Peterson, 48, found dead in her Durham home, 9 Dec 2001

I have always thought that he was guilty because of this. One thing I have learned, though, is that blood from a head injury is like no other. When my brother was found there was blood all over. All over. So much so that we couldn't believe there wasn't foul play. The closet doors were also...

GUILTY NC - Kathleen Peterson, 48, found dead in her Durham home, 9 Dec 2001

Again, feel odd doing this as I am not pushing the theory but the links I provided in previous posts reference info about the suppositions, supporting evidence and an account of other owl attacks on humans. Also I thought the woman in Germany who died in the staircase was his friend and...

GUILTY NC - Kathleen Peterson, 48, found dead in her Durham home, 9 Dec 2001

This is the theory. Explains blood in stairwell as being due to her tripping or fainting and hitting her head after slipping in her own blood. She bled to death but would have lived if she had gotten help in time. The same thing happened to my brother (not due to an owl attack, but a fall and...
