I agree with the murder being in the morning. IIRC they also were empty of stomach contents which would indicate 6 to 8 hours without food. It pretty much would have to be in the early morning hours.

Great post Dancin, still many questions. It sounded to me like they were not sure about the hair found in RD's hand since it was blondish brown and not gray, but I took it that DNA showed it to belong to SD. Was a mistake made?

I think the killers were there to get something from the Dermonds. Maybe there was a safe in the house, do we know? Some piece of paper they may have had in their possession. What could it have been, a birth certificate, loan, contract? Either way, no evidence released that SD was killed in...

All I know for certain is that two elderly people were murdered in an unspeakable way. The rest of what I think I know is just that, I think.

You are right. I obviously assumed Friday was when the murders were committed due to SD working on Friday's puzzle. My Father also said Expect or Assume Nothing and ye shall not be Disappointed. Thanks Razz for keeping me straight.
