Absolutely! But it’s very easy in the UK for a young woman with a history of self harm to be given a diagnosis of Emotionally Unstable Personality Disorder, and then all sorts of assumptions and prejudices enter the picture ready to be exploited.
He’s pleaded not guilty, so his defence team are...
This is the thing that is bothering me. The case seems pretty compelling to me, even from these opening remarks, but I’m worried that the defence will try to use her known difficulties to their advantage - something along the lines of she consented to sex because she’s promiscuous and impulsive...
I agree. The defence seems very weak to me. They’ve thrown up a lot of noise about Grace’s sexual history and preferences, but they’ve not addressed key questions about how this ‘accidental’ death actually happened.
I absolutely cannot get this bit of his story to compute. She accidentally dies during sex, and he doesn’t notice, and he finishes having sex with her, leaves her lying dead on the floor, and goes to have a shower, and still doesn’t notice? How?
Yes, it’s confusing! My understanding is that there is only one bag, which has been called various things. It was found at Police Beach, which is a beach bar/party spot and so it has been reported both as being found at a bar and found on the beach. The bag was found some time between Amelia...
It looks more like it was placed there than dropped or lost. Would the rocks have been surrounded by water when she went missing? Not sure what tides are like there.
Left for Dead - The Cambodia Daily
Katherine Grgich. Seems it was a robbery, and they have a suspect but he has left the country. Not related to this case but a little concerning that the Cambodian Police didn’t alert the Thai authorities or Interpol.
Good find, this does look like it could be her? Some of the reviews of Police Beach suggest that at this time of year it can be relatively quiet, not really a chaotic scene heaving with people, so I wonder what the others there may have noticed, if anything?
It’s not clear. Some reports say that that’s what her family think may have happened, some reports say she went missing after leaving the party to walk back alone. I’d need to look at the time stamps of the reports but it’s possible what her family said was a possibility has been turned into...
I can’t see anyway it’s good. The only way I can see her voluntarily leaving what was a private beach, set up as a party spot, with an entry fee, without her phone and money is if she was too intoxicated or tripping on something to really notice or care. In which case yes, it’s plausible that...
I initially got confused with this story because the first report I read said she had been at Police beach, and then her bag had been found on a ‘nearby’ beach, which implied (to me) a different beach, but other reports say the bag was found at Police beach.
I’m wondering what she was doing...
I don’t blame the friends at all (and I’m sure they are beating themselves up quite enough now, all by themselves). She looks drunk, yes, but not incapable drunk - she’s walking and talking and probably no more drunk than many of them had been at one time or another. They saw her into a taxi...
Hey - another newby here, although I’ve been lurking for a while. I’ve seen a few posts suggesting that Libby could have been swept away and ended up in the sea. I’m not familiar with Hull and the river there - is that a likely scenario? Because really - where is she? The searches have been...
