I presume it's being done to show that they aren't as committed to their children as they claim they are. Her grandiose claims they she'd do anything for her children and never hurt them don't reflect her actions, ie missing visitations and then leaving a 4 month gap.

If you're referring to the basket of food in the petrol station it's actually about 4 or 5 cans of Coke and not soup. It seems like a basket of junk food/snacks.

Well she wasn't in court Thursday and Friday and didn't even bother to watch the proceedings on a video link which was offered to her. Such strange behaviour.

The pair had an emergency interview after arrested but wouldn't answer questions regarding the location of the baby, instead Gordon demanded food and then after receiving some asked for sweets! Unbelievable?!? Shows where their priorities lay.
