Thanks for your work on the Samuel Sherman case, Mathew. One less person to worry about and one theory that can be removed from the list. I saw on the news a couple months ago that the Omaha Police hired an intern to scour the internet for clues on cold cases. She worked out well and they...

The Omaha World Herald charges for copies of their archive unless you get older articles through the Omaha Public Library. My card is expired but I will see if I can get on the website. Many older articles are now digital. I copied the text of a couple of those over here in the past but they...

I posted this back in the #3 forum, but this is the way I would walk to Benson HS. I talked with my son and he agreed. Benson HS has a North & South entrance. The teachers use the South, the students the North, but I’m not sure where they agreed to meet.

I’m the neighbor and I didn’t move. My GF moved out and she filed a quit claim so that the house would be put in my name. I then refinanced later. I sold the house for in 2006.

I'm trying to find where I read that. If you Google "Jason Jolkowski Roberts Park", you will find all the local articles about the memorial, but I thought they picked the park because it was one of Jason's favorite places. (which was news to me in 2021.) I guess the point isn't if he took...

One thing I never considered until the 20 year memorial service at Roberts Park, was that JJ might have connections at that park. I had not known that he was a skate board enthusiast. This park is located about 5 min from Fazzoli's and is a bit off of the street along the Keystone Trail and...

All I know about the brother is that he was much younger than JJ. He attended Westside HS where JJ had started and I believe he served in the armed services.

I had never heard about this, until I got here. I would guess there was a neighbor with prior offenses, and they asked for a search.

You guys have been busy. I saw a couple questions I can answer, but I don't know how relevant my answers are. LOL Throwing out possibilities, I mentioned a couple of neighborhood suicides maybe a couple years ago now. We've researched them as dead ends a couple of times. The guy across the...

I agree. Without any leads. Everyone is. Neighbors, family, everybody. A couple people have brought up the fact that Jeremy Sheets, the likely killer of Kenyatta Bush was released from prison the same day that Jason disappeared. I'm not saying that he did it. North Omaha was kind of upset...

Yes. Mine was one of them. 3350 N 47th Ave I think there have been 2-3 owners since me, and I know they took out a lot of trees, a shed, and changed the fencing.

I never got the vibe that Jason was gay, but I didn't know he had a learning disability either. I might speak with the family when walking my dog. Very nice people. My parents knew them better, because they each represented their parishes in the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul doing food...

In the past few months, a lot more of the Omaha World Herald has been made available online through the Omaha Public Library. Prior, only articles older than the 1980s were available. Now many of the newer have been digitized and OCR into text. This is the first article in the OWH to talk...

Back in the day when I worked fast food we kept our uniforms at work unless they needed to be laundered. Or we swapped a set back and forth. I never liked walking in my uniform and I often had plans after work. I don’t find it unusual but I never thought of the after work plans angle.

In 2001 we did not use the trash bins that we have only now been using the last 4-5 years. We used 55 gallon metal or plastic cans. They (and the bins now) have weight limits, and then were picked up by hand. It was also acceptable then to put trash out in bags, and recyclables all went in...

I've always had this hope, and as I mentioned, anything is possible at this point. If you talk to his father, that's what he will tell you too, but that is a conviction of his faith. This is, however, how the police treated it, at first, and why it took so long for an investigation to start...

Google maps says it would take 1 hour and 39 minutes to walk from Jason's house to Fazzoli's at 78th and Cass. The Buss would even be 45 min because of a transfer. I remember, in an interview, Jason's mom stated that he had recently taken up walking for exercise.

There is a small lagoon at the Fontenelle Park and Golf Course North of where JJ lived, but that is in the opposite direction of where he would be walking. Omaha has had a project that has extended several years where they are separating the storm and septic sewer systems in the older parts of...

Sadly, this may never be solved in our lifetimes. The odds can be bumped up by what we are doing here though. The way they caught Ted Kaczynski was to publish his manifesto. His brother recognized the writing style, and there was finally a suspect. True crime podcasts are very popular right...

My recollection is that Chester saw him pull the cans back from the curb. I have not seen the man for years. I believe he was at the 20 year memorial at the skateboard park. I wish I had gone. I think for that reason, there are theories that JJ might have walked up to the church or some...
