Canada - Lucas Fowler, Chynna Deese, and Leonard Dyck, all murdered, Alaska Hwy, BC, Jul 2019 #14

I've dipped out of these threads for a bit so pardon me if I'm posting something that's already been posted. This is an Australian press story about an item found with the two suspects: The Royal Canadian Mounted Police will make an announcement on the case on Tuesday (AEST). The RCMP were...

It's not very accessible by foot, and parts of it are not at all accessible. The bodies were transported by boat because there were no trails to take them on. Here's some imagery of the area: Melissa Tait on Twitter Melissa Tait on Twitter

My thought is if they'd pulled up to shore intentionally they would have had the sleeping bag, water bottle etc with them, not lost to the river. It makes me think they had to ditch due to the condition of the boat (as we saw). What time they had left on shore must have been miserable, eaten...

There are several posts in the last thread suggesting it must have been imagined or fabricated, I'm only addressing that kind of black-and-white thinking of those posts and not any other posters in this or past threads. Agreed .

Purely opinion: Personally, I do think they've been in York Landing. Perhaps they got spooked by being stopped and searched at Split Lake. Perhaps they thought they'd been rumbled at that point and that's why they performed the very video game dramatic gesture of torching the vehicle a few...

I was trying to catch up on the last thread before skipping ahead to this one, but ended up skipping over a chunk anyway. But in response to a series of comments I came across in the last thread: RCMP repeatedly used the word "credible" to describe the sighting. They simply haven't been able to...

I'm sure they're no beholden to, but the journalists posting on twitter that I'm reading are stating things like they have gone outside because police cleared them to do so, or that they won't publish where officers will exactly be. Seems like arguing for arguing's sake.

The press there are operating under police approval and won't be publishing that detail. The residents now know not to post that information as well, and posts from the area have stopped. We are not in possession of any leaks from this isolated community.

That doesn't apply to stating they're in York Landing. The suspects certainly know they're there, there are helicopters overhead and planes landing. Police are allowing press coverage and some photographs. Just not the number of officers or what exact part of town or the surrounding area they're...

I believe we're just hearing of this one today. Two sightings in the area prior to the burning of the car were cited by the RCMP, however only the gas station attendant one was described before now. They only stopped them because it's a checkpoint for a dry area, they weren't known to be wanted...

RenataDAliesio The suspects were spotted in Split Lake getting gas last Monday, First Nation safety officers told us yesterday. No report of them taking the ferry. Locals say they could have followed hydro or rail lines. RCMP Manitoba Situation is ongoing. All possible RCMP resources continue...

Melissa Tait @meltait RCMP on the ferry to York Landing from Split Lake, Manitoba. Officers, vehicles - including a boat & three ATVs, left at 7am to aid the search for triple murder suspects Bryer Schmegelsky and Kam McLeod. The only way to York with vehicles is air or boat. #canadamanhunt...

Catch a lift or walk the road to Split Lake, then catch the ferry from Split Lake to York Landing (there is no road access). Walk the bush, possibly along the hydro line if an adequate track has been carved under it for maintenance access (we can't see the ground there to confirm the condition...

I just looked up some usage info and it seems my Australianness is showing: In Australian English and New Zealand English, the term has an extended use meaning to "rummage".

A member of the Bear Clan who was patrolling spotted what may be the two suspects fossicking at the dump in the community of York Landing, which is not accessible by road. RCMP were called and have moved their operations to the area. The two suspects are still being sought.

A loose plan to get southwest towards 'civilisation' and out of the Gillam area? They may have thought they could pull off weeks out there. And it was somewhat succeeding too - had the BC not chanced upon them at the dump on their last patrol for the day, they would have kept going. RCMP was...

Please don't put your journalistic faith in Channel 7 news, news.com.au or most of the other Aussie sources getting quoted here. They're salacious at best. Any accuracy has been purely by accident.

Here's a good video I found with an interview (from before the York Landing event) about this, and how tense the communities have been feeling: NEWS 1130 on Twitter
