Remackel Remacle Remakel of Luxembourg and Minnesota (Book, 2005) [WorldCat.org]
Would be interesting to see this book, done in 2005, not in LA, but it does appear to be a some genealogy re Remakel, might prove interesting.
Working with a slightly blurry version of the passenger card, as I can't seem to find a clear image... noting a few inconsistencies.
When comparing the cursive F in the signature panel on the incoming passenger card (Florabella or Frau) with Marion's letter to Sally's - see image in post Nov...
Sophie, can you please bring me up to speed with 15th October.. I seem to have missed the significance of that date. So Florabella was in Australia August 2nd - 15th October.?
Thinking about the last podcast after Sally had the interview with the new Investigating officer, she was clear in the fact that she had been provided information, that was to be kept confidential. Subsequent to this there was the decision from NCAT.
I wonder (again) if some of the...
I wonder if the name on the Passenger Card has any link to either the anonymous phone tip, (sounds silly I know) or possibly to Armidale. Hence the redaction of the name
Here is the link to the NCAT decision .. interesting reading.
Leydon v Commissioner of Police - NSW Caselaw
Good Luck Sally, I hope what they release is helpful.
Was the Colonial Bank of Australia shortened to CBA? Years later Sally may have thought she rang the Commonwealth Bank when looking at her notes with "CBA" - which today is the Commonwealth Bank. Hence the confusion post 2001 when they merged. Just a thought.
I too have trolled the newspaper and no other adds appear with the same adjectives MF Remakel used, in ane edition, also above his add there was another add from michele(?) did they meet at all? Is this the michele who was searching for him on another site???
What is interesting with the add in 1994, is that for most Recontres adds in the classified section, when looking at other editions, most adds are run for 2 editions. This add was only run once. What that means, I don't know but interesting. I have been looking to see if there is a similar...
Another point they are discussing is that Marion would not have had access to internet to come up with the name Remakel. There was television and newspapers in the 90’s though so she might have come across the name via those means.
No record of Remakel migrating to Australia in national archives - I’m guessing was on a visitor visa / tourist visa due to lack of record. Therefore what’s the connection to 53 Anderson street, who had it in 1994? Simple historical search should tell us? Then follow that lead!
