Charge 3 would work regardless. Casey, as the mother, was responsible for her child's safety no matter what the scenario that caused Caylee's death. I don't understand why that was not clear to the jury other than maybe they cannot understand legalese and failed to ask the judge to clarify it...
I think they could have gone for guilty on charge 3 (linked in someone's post above).

Although not native to Florida, the coyote has been tracked in all Florida counties.
Apparently the mother had to leave and left her child in the care of four adults who were in the house. I guess every one of those adults thought someone else was taking care of this little girl.
I hope this is a wake-up call for all involved.
It seems strange to me that cooked hamburger (only half of a burger) could put off that kind of smell. I could understand it more if it was not cooked.
My kids have left things like that in my car and it has smelled a little bad but not dry heave inducing.
