The Marina district is actually known as being kind of fratty because a lot of younger, bro-y type of people live there! I wouldn't be surprised if she had friends (or friends of friends) who lived there.
Downtown SF is very quiet these days because of the pandemic. A lot of the businesses in the Financial District/downtown area are closed as people work remotely. It's definitely possible that she may be able to blend it, but there are much fewer people out and about.
