Do you have a link to the family trees by chance? I thought I'd found him connected to a Hoover family in Ohio, but I think this information was wrong... though they also had a Calvin who lived in Toronto (weird coincidence!) I have found very little via Google.

Not that close. He lived in Richmond Hill by the sound of it and she lived in Etobicoke. Definitely a drivable distance (about 30 minutes back in the 80's, I would think). The question would be, how would he know her? Perhaps related to his work like with Christine?

A lot seems odd about the timelines and how no one noticed... but either the family had their suspicions and kept it quiet (which bothers me a lot, because it makes them complicit) or perhaps Calvin had a habit of coming home at odd hours saying he worked late, etc... so it wasn't suspicious...

There were a couple of reports by people in the area that they had seen a blue car and someone subduing a child while driving. I don't think there is certainty of the accuracy of these statements, but there seems to have been more than one reported. One mentioned Ravenshoe Road.

Took a start at a timeline based on some recent posts here... I know there is a lot of other info available (even in this thread) if anyone else wants to add to this... If Hoover could be responsible for others, they would likely either have no DNA evidence, and/or be someone who was never...

It looks like Calvin Hoover's father lived in Ohio and there is plenty of family in the US. I wonder if US authorities will do a similar search through their cases to see if there is a DNA match? If Calvin had US citizenship, he could easily have been heading across the border to commit crimes.

I have been googling since yesterday and also can't find the obit. I grew up in their area and have always been bothered by this case. I had a friend with the last name Hoover from the area as well and now wondering if she was related (I hope not). So far I can't find anything of any of them...
