I think threads max out at capacity at around 50 pages or so, and then the mods will make a new thread with a #2 suffix for people to continue their discussions :) Perhaps it's a small thing but in my eyes, more pages/threads = more attention and hopefully more moves in useful directions for a...
I believe Rei was 6, and that scenario doesn't hold water so well to me with that age... But we could go around in circles for ages about these granular details of motive, I guess.
I notice we're approaching a second thread, which is good - so many more of us know about this case thanks to this...
My suspicion is that Rei was killed in the ways he was (A. asphyxiated, B. seemingly first) precisely because he wasn't the primary target. It's the least attention-drawing of the deaths, and it seems to me to indicate that the primary objective was murder (by any means and willing to create...
:( there's more info available on Facebook in a post from Erin's sister (initials ZL) which doesn't bode well at all - I'm sure I can't share it here directly, but if you find Erin's sister's post, she shares some worrying context. My thoughts go out to Erin and her family, and I hope she is...
Yeah, it's interesting. I've heard of dyes/powders being used like this as a deterrent for shoplifters, but I'm not sure that was being done in 2001. This article is from a decade later: DNA spray marks out thieves
... But I haven't done any real research into this usage yet - I'll post here...
These are interesting ideas, but it says 'fluorescent powder', not glitter. I think they'd say 'glitter' if that was what was found.
The powder is also mentioned in this article from a couple of years ago: Police seek public’s help over Setagaya family murders in 2000
"Following the murders...
And all of this during/post-COVID. I can't imagine what it would be like to be a school aged child during all of that. Their maternal grandmother had also died in 2019, pre-pandemic. If I was a child, young teenager or even an older teenager, I think I'd be feeling some pretty strong feelings...
It's a big park which is relatively busy in the day, and closes after dark. It's to the side of a well used road, but the park itself extends back from the road/is quite separate. Parts of the park can be quiet and secluded - I've gone there to practise yoga myself.
ETA: from Google it looks...
Is that accurate? I thought Boy Y said he heard noises as if something had been dropped, and I don't recall Girl X saying she heard a scream either (but I'd have to check back through the trial notes). Would you mind pasting the info if I've missed it (which is very possible!)?
ETA sorry if...
It's around a 5-10 minute walk depending on pace. Google says 6 mins - it would take me less than 5 but I can see it taking longer if you don't walk at my pace!
Edit: sorry, didn't realise I was on an old version of the page and lots of people have weighed in already. I was raised in Norwich so...
Gosh, this trial is such a lot. I don't envy the jury at all, nor poor Brianna's family. I hope anyone reading about this trial and struggling is able to look after themselves/seek support as well.

This is a very confusing defense to me. Girl X claims just fantasy, so she was trying to be taken seriously about it... Because it's just fantasy. Eh?

There was reference to a washing machine with clothes in front of it in the arrest footage of Girl X:
'He points out a washing machine which is seen in the kitchen in the footage and items on the floor in front of it.
SS: “It appears to be clothes, from what I’m seeing right now. Can you...
