GUILTY UK - Nurse Lucy Letby, murder of babies, 7 Guilty of murder verdicts; 7 Guilty of attempted murder; 2 Not Guilty of attempted; 6 hung re attempted #33

I wonder about this. My feeling, which is MOO of course, is that LL will not like at all the idea that people see her real self, the LL who murdered tiny preemie babies. I think part of what LL got off on was her ability to create the drama and then manipulate others around her into thinking...

VERDICT WATCH UK - Nurse Lucy Letby, Faces 22 Charges - 7 Murder/15 Attempted Murder of Babies #30

if that is the case is it likely they will be asked to give partial verdicts at some point and then the judge will decide what to do with the rest, i.e. allow them to continue to deliberate on the ones they can't reach majority on, or declare hung jury on those?

VERDICT WATCH UK - Nurse Lucy Letby, Faces 22 Charges - 7 Murder/15 Attempted Murder of Babies #30

Some background on unanimous vs majority verdicts from here: https://www.mosslaw.co.uk/jury-trial-fate-decided/ So this suggests to me that the jury has told the Judge that they are stuck on at least some of the charges in that they cannot reach a unanimous verdict, and therefore he has given...

VERDICT WATCH UK - Nurse Lucy Letby, Faces 22 Charges - 7 Murder/15 Attempted Murder of Babies #30

Not sure I follow? If they were very very close to verdicts on all charges, why not just see if the juror could continue for the short time it would take to reach the unanimous verdict the judge has asked for? I wonder if it is more likely that the juror has a specific issue that is beyond...

UK UK - Ruth Wilson, 16, Dorking, 27 Nov 1995

This is most likely the explanation! It is an open case so nothing can be provided. It is likely that there are lots of details and pieces of info that are not in the public domain and that might, if we knew them, alter what we think about the case. I am curious, for example, how the notes that...

Found Deceased UK - Katherine Corrigan, 27, Chelmsford, Essex, 22 Jul 2023

Given that these images of Katherine were obtained so quickly or at all suggests that someone knew she was at this location right before she went missing. Visiting someone? Attending an appointment, then went missing soon after?

https://www.essexlive.news/news/essex-news/chelmsford-family-issues-urgent-appeal-8638393 Katherine, known as Katie to her family and friends it seems, is still missing.

Yes the fact that it is known she spent time in the library in an age before CCTV must mean that witnesses, quite probably library staff, placed her there. There is potentially info on what she was doing there and what her behaviour was like, distressed, calm, etc, was she writing, reading? My...

Recovered/Located UK - Constance Marten & Mark Gordon & Newborn, left a broken down car on motorway, Bolton Greater Manchester, 5 Jan 2023

And the newborn baby has not been seen or checked by any medical professionals. This is a child protection issue. The child has rights.

Found Deceased UK - Leah Croucher - Emerson Valley - Milton Keynes - #6

Indeed. He had groomed other much younger girls/women too. His picture is irrelevant, what is relevant is that he has a history of being able to charm and manipulate younger people with the aim of sexually abusing them. He literally has a criminal record for this exact sort of offense. If Leah...

UK - Nurse Lucy Letby Faces 22 Charges - 7 Murder/15 Attempted Murder of Babies #3

That is perhaps the reason why she is not taking the stand, because she will not be able to account for these (and that could be for many reasons including that she is too distraught and broken), and this will come across badly if she is taken apart by the prosecution.

UK - Nurse Lucy Letby Faces 22 Charges - 7 Murder/15 Attempted Murder of Babies #3

Do you mean it was alleged that she believed that about herself before she was suspected/arrested?

was he definitely in prison? He might not have served the whole 4 1/2 years and if he had been on remand before the sentence that might have been taken into account?

None (and it violates patient confidentiality.)

UK UK - Alistair Wilson, 30, murdered at home, Nairn, Scotland, 28 Nov 2004

I think this is a very interesting point. A lot has been made of trying to make sense of the killing, by attributing some sort of logic to it, which people have tried to piece together into a coherent narrative based on it being a professional hit over a hidden motive. However, elements of the...

Germany Germany- Heligoland, MaleWht, 45-50, 6'5'', "The Gentleman'', Marks & Spencer tie, 11 July 1994

I would assume teeth but not sure if it has been reported. I did notice that the original report on the analysis, which said the results indicated he came from Australia, has been somewhat changed and now suggests he could have come from Australia or UK, IIRC. The testing was done in Australia...

Some people do remarry rather quickly, grief can have very strange effects on people too. People don't always behave as we might expect them to under circumstances like extreme grief, etc. I do not think it is suspicious at all. We have no idea about the mother's life or mental health or what...

    UK UK - Suzy Lamplugh, 25, Fulham, 28 Jul 1986 #4

I don't think she did make a 6pm appointment to fetch it, she just said she would be along later that day. Was it reported anywhere that she said 6pm? The diary appointment does suggest that she could not have gone at that time, but that isn't an issue given that the pub was open until 11pm. I...

Exactly, pubs are famously open until quite late. And it was very close to her home. The most sensible answer is that she would drop by on her way home after she'd finished her 18:00 appointment with the client, or after she'd done whatever she planned to do after that. There just seems very...
