Depends. How would this fundraiser work? Would we launch a Go Fund me?

I just wanted to clarify my previous post here; I do not deny a possible link between Mr. Bones and New York. I was only commenting that there seems to be reason to believe he may have gone to other parts of the country for school as well. Given the contacts from Chicago, the rifle from Indiana...

Personally, I don't have a whole lot of reason to believe this. We do have the connections to Chicago, Indiana, Kentucky, and Canada from other evidence in this case, but I do have this comment Richard made earlier in this thread: "I think the most likely theory is that this man was a college...

Right, but if we want a comprehensive list of all colleges at the time that had classes using those books, wouldn't we have to look through the records of every college in the country, or New York State at the least? I wonder if the publishing company has records of the schools it distributed...

Just a quick update to my previous posts: I did confirm with Syracuse that they do possess student and faculty directories from 1955-1958 (that was the date range I asked for in my email). I've also contacted State University of New York to see if they too possess yearbooks for those years as...

I definitely agree that other universities ought to be checked if this search doesn't amount to anything, but remember what Richard said in an earlier post: "The two schools which I would check first would be the Maxwell Graduate School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University...

I did some searching for yearbooks from Syracuse. All the stuff online seems to be just outside that mid to late 1950s period Mr. Bones's time in school would probably have taken place in. I contacted the school's research department, and they told me they do possess copies of the books we'd...

Richard, I did some research on Stuart Gerry Brown, one of the authors of the "Reading Poems" book Mr. Bones seems to have had when he died. I found this collection on Syracuse University's Website: Stuart Gerry Brown Papers An inventory of his papers at Syracuse University It's a description...

It would be nice to have some photographs of the actual firearm provided by the police both to verify the serial no. and barrel code and to confirm it was in fact a Remington 721 and not an 03 Springfield. As I said in an earlier post, and please by all means correct me if I'm wrong, Richard, if...

The problem is that you'll also find places where the rifle is listed as a "Springfield". I believe the Doe Network's page on Mr. Bones does this. This is possibly meant to refer to a 1903 Springfield which was made for the US Military. As the name suggests, the rifle was first produced in 1903...

It's such a shame, man. I went ahead and looked at the beginning of this thread, and the fact you've been at this thing for almost two decades without success must be frustrating. I know this guy can be ID'd so long as DNA remains available for testing, but little interest to solve this case...

Also, did you ever get any more info about the books? You had mentioned asking the case officer if there was any written notes, library stamps, or other clues in them and that he would check. I can't find any followup posts on the subject. I believe I had asked about it when I called them back...

Thanks for sharing Richard. Forgive me for my ignorance, as it's been a long time since I've gone through this whole thread, but do you know if those schools have been checked out to see if they still have any rosters or yearbooks that can be gone over?

Yes. He is. The other day it clicked that Mr. Bones's sketch somewhat resembled the most recent version of the character, and I thought that was a slightly humorous coincidence especially since both men would have grown up around the same timeframe. Correct me if I'm wrong though, but wouldn't...

You've gotta admit though, it's a bit surprising that such a distinctive character as Mr. Bones didn't stick out to more people prior to his death. Based off the sketch, his estimated build, and his clothing the dude was a real-life B.J. Blazkowicz (hope I'm not the only one who sees the...

He seems a likely candidate for me too. I remember looking into his case back in the day. Can't remember why I stopped.

AFAIK Othel Johnson is still missing. He does bear some resemblance to Mr. Bones in terms of height and hair color. He is a little older than Mr. Bones's estimated age, and it seems he went missing in New Mexico. There is little other information available. It seems unlikely he'd make it all the...

As I previously stated, my only purpose in arguing this matter is to simply make the point that the possibility exists that these two cases are related. It's also worth mentioning I recently made a post stating how, like you said, it's far more likely that this guy is somebody whose name hasn't...

Not to keep playing Devil's Advocate, but Forsythe did show signs of being a criminal mastermind in spite of his moments of ineptitude. First off, he managed to hide the body in such a manner that nobody's been able to find or positively identity it in over 65 years in spite of how sensational...

I went ahead and searched for some newspaper articles that covered Charles Conner's case at the time. To be frank, I got over 500 results, so I think those who have stated how big of a deal this thing was back then aren't exaggerating whatsoever. That being said, some details jumped out at me...
