Just chiming in to say my kiddo just turned 20 months and that's exactly how we refer to him. A month in toddler development is enormous, never mind 8 months.
I can't make sense though of why LS said Quinton was a year old. I could see it as a deliberate attempt to mislead. I could also see it...
Maybe LE named LS as a suspect when they did precisely to protect her other children as it would probably set off the process that took place today. Maybe they deemed the safety of the other children worth whatever risk there might be in naming her their prime suspect before they have a body or...
Fair. I wasn't thinking so much that she would care but that it would be a hassle, unless they were sleeping which I guess I could see. Someone suggested she might have left them at home though would neighbors hear them crying? Idk.
Eta: sorry I think I read your reply too quickly. Maybe you're...
Not that I'm aware, but I haven't watched her interviews. Just trying to reconcile the 6am regular babysitter start with everyone apparently asleep until 9am.
I could totally see that. Makes you wonder about the regular 6am pickup by the babysitter. I would gather they were somewhat accustomed to that but maybe they carried three sleeping babes over...
Eta: typo
Lol, thanks! Keeps you on your toes for sure.
I might have missed that detail about Quinton but my thought then would also be they are constantly acquiring new skills.
If LE didn't have evidence of his demise and she was passed out asleep I could totally see young kids getting impatient amd...
Someone mentioned this quite awhile ago, but very few kids Quinton's age are asleep at 9am. My kids are early risers generally but as one anecdotal comparison my kid Q's age wakes between 530-630am for the day. My other kid wakes by 7am (5yrs) and at age 3 it was 630-7 (thinking of the older...
If we accept boyfriend DY's account of seeing Quinton at 6am then that gave her from 6am-942am. I personally don't know if I believe DY or if DY knew what he saw but LE did say there were no other POIs.
I don't think an alligator swiped Quinton, but my 20 month old can in fact open all the doors in our home which are not locked and has been able to on tip toes since 13 months. Yesterday he opened our heavy sliding glass door, which he never had before.
RSBM
I disagree with this distinction. Everyday in my clinical work with trauma survivors many are plagued with ambivalence about remembering. Indeed a significant part of treatment is creating internal feelings of safety to be able to titrate knowing information and feelings. Survivors...
I've been lurking on Quinton’s story and am so heartbroken by this update. And like many, also sadly not surprised.
As the mother of a 20-month old, Quinton’s reality has sat like a heavy brick on my chest all week.
<modsnip> Social media is already eating LS alive and that will only intensify...
Is this what you're thinking of? French couple who died in desert gave son extra water, sheriff said | CNN So very sad and does put into perspective how quickly and disabling heat stroke is. I can imagine them getting down to the river, but it is hard to imagine, based on this French family's...
That makes sense and I think that's right. Maybe something like with them, in the dirt (not using quotes because I don't remember the exact quote). It would be interesting to know placement relative to EC/JG. Also, as an aside, early reports had EC farther up the trail, but I noticed in the...
We don't know that Oski didn't have water, we just know they had an 85 oz bladder, not how full it was or how it was shared among the group. BBM Per the MCSO (in response to a question they received on their facebook page about Oski), "Jay thank your for your comment- What we know about Oski is...
RSBM. In the presser an audience member asked about anything else with them after the clohing, bladder, and baby carrier were accounted for and Sheriff Briese said no, there was not anything else. Eta, therefore EC didn't have a pack.
Mental illness doesn't come to mind for me here. I think, having more than one person can either be an asset or a liability. It's likely to be an asset if each party can be a check on the other which I suspect is more likely for people who don't know each other as well, like the blogger hiking...
Agree with this. I'm a parent of young children and have done a fair amount of backpacking before kids and tame hiking since (even worked as a lifeguard for several summers growing up) and I really had NO meaningful understanding of heatstroke before this story. Humbling. And so tragic for them...
