Thinking about Tori a lot this Christmas. I do hope there is some news soon that he will be denied his appeal, or that there is no grounds for it. It must be gut-wrenching for Tori's family to go through this crap in slow motion. I'm sure I can speak for everyone here who followed Tori's case...

Yeah unfortunately because LE didn't do its job and request a warrant for the computer, otherwise that evidence would have been shown in court.

He was never classified as a dangerous offender because he killed only 1 person. Google the criteria for someone being classified a dangerous offender in Canada.

Just heard on the news that more shots fired at Place de la République in Paris where people were gathered for a vigil. People running around in panic.

If he found a lawyer, they must be having a field day looking through all the stuff. However, I do feel it is futile, rarely are their appeals granted unless there was a big error of law or rights violated.

Has anyone heard anything more about the appeal?

He was granted an extension to file and appeal, but not granted the actual appeal yet.

Even if MR didn't physically kill Tori, I believe he egged her TLM on because he was too much of coward to end it himself, and in his little pea brain he may have thought that if he wasn't the one wielding the hammer then he couldn't be charged with murder. He's not very smart, but smart enough...

He hasn't been given the right to appeal yet to my knowledge. At this point he's only asking for the taxpayers to pay for his appeal ******if***** he gets one!! He still doesn't have lawyer because he's been refused 4 times by legal aid. :) The lawyer who is trying to get taxpayers to pay...

Derstine must have known he was guilty (because the was there) and defended his client to the best of his ability so his client would get the least amount of prison time... it didn't work because the jury was smart enough to look at the mounds of evidence against him. I just can't believe...

What I don't understand is that there may be a lawyer out there who would want to defend this knowing what this did. I know that we all deserve a fair defense, but he has already had a trial and a lot of bad stuff came out at that trial and after it. Whatever anyone (MR or another...

I have 2 theories, either MR participated fully in killing Tori after doing his other bit, or he egged TLM into killing her, either way, they're both monsters who should be locked up for life and I do mean life.
