I have only recently heard about this case but something has occured to me. Since this girl was brain damaged and very naieve and trusting, it would be very possible for some sicko to keep her prisoner and eventually brainwash her into forgetting who she was. We saw what happened in Jaycee...
I am anxious to hear the results of who the remains belong to. If it is in fact Melissa, I'm just wondering if maybe she was buried in a shallow grave and after two decades of rain, snow, storms, etc. her body may have finally been uncovered? Something to think about. Also, if its not her and...
Thanks for the info about Codis. I had never heard of it before but that will help in my sleuthing. Like I said I'm very new to this :) What are some more tips when narrowing down potential matches?
You'll have to bear with me here, but I am very new to online sleuthing and please forgive me is this has been posted and ruled out already. I went to the Doe Network site today and was haunted by the pic of a Jane Doe known as 'Christy Crystal River'. Her remains were found in Missoula, Montana...
Just curious, but do they have any leads whatsoever is Ilene Misheloff's case? I know Phillip Garrido is a suspect, but did anyone actuallt witness anyone suspicious around Ilene shortly before she vanished?
I re-watched the FBI Files episode about Melissa's abduction on Youtube. This case is so disturbing to me; I wish that Caleb Hughes or whatever his name was would have just confessed as to what he did with her body; it seems to me he isn't going anywhere anytime soon as he was sentanced to 50...

I did a google search for...
I think that would have been very poignant if she did. This is a wonderful opportunity to start over once again, and have Jaycee and her family give those two girls all the wonderful things in life they were denied.
I really look forward to reading Terry's book when it comes out this year. Maybe one day Jaycee will sit down and write a story about her life. I know everyone is curious to hear about the things that happened to her during the 18 years in captivity, but I'm more curious to hear about her...
Oh yes! I remember her friend mentioning playing Nintendo with her on 'Dateline'. I also remember reading an article right when the story broke out that Jaycee loved playing with Barbies, and her aunt had bought her the 1991 'Happy Holidays' Barbie for Christmas shortly before she was abducted...
Hi everyone,
I've been a longtime reader of the Websleuth forums but this is my first time posting. I've been following the Jaycee Dugard case ever since August when she was found and this case haunts and intrigues me on so many levels. I am one year older than Jaycee and grew up in the same...
