Would it be possible to change the name of the thread to " "Lyle Stevik" "...like, add the quotes around his name to maybe clarify that it is not his real name? It might make people not just pass him over
Adding to my previous statement, my impression of Philly as an outsider was that one block is beautiful and has exspensive houses, and the next is abandoned lots with drug deals going down. You can be walking and daydreaming and suddenly find yourself in a really bad place. It was strange to me...
Ask anything you want, I did not know her well, but I am very familiar with the area (my bedroom looked pretty much into where she worked) so i can offer some perspective.
I don't think there is a false sense of security, because although it is an up and coming area, there was a double...
While I was there I was living in the Piazza. I had moved from a small town, and it looked cool. My parents grew up in Kensington but left right after high school. I was always told "never go north of Girard". I was pretty cautious because I was new, and always took a taxi home, but yeah, Girard...
I have just recently moved from this neighborhood, and while I had only met her a few times, I was very good friends with several of her co-workers...such a sad story, I really hope they catch the guy...
Glorybug, you make some great points and bring some great perspective! Your information is great and much appreciated!

Probably not him, but worth a look (and a second opinion from a fellow websleuther)!
Missing in April '99 from Minnesota, black hair, brown eyes, believed depressed, age fits (turned 24 on the day Lyle was found), AND his father died in...
If we all work together I bet we can find out more!
The more I think about this, the less I think that he's going to be "claimed" by a family member, and more likely it seems that it's going to be an old classmate or coworker that goes "I know him! I wondered what happened to him!"
He has...
I openly admit to having dyed red hair, I wanted red hair my whole life! Blame it on little Orphan Annie, The Little Mermaid, and Anne of Green Gables...I really want redheaded children!
But I agree, it most likely is jealousy
It seems like Lyle's case is going to be seen more now that it's been moved! This is the case that haunts me the most, so I really hope this man has his name returned to him...
My grandmother passed away in January; at her funeral I was crying really hard, and my older brother went to put his arm around me, in the process knocking my purse to the ground. We both cracked up, in the middle of the funeral. Loudly.
