That's a very good article. One thing I had never read before that stuck out was George's original Italian surname. I can't help but wonder if the children, if they survived and were kidnapped, were renamed with more Italian-sounding names.
I'm so glad to hear that he has been identified, yet very sad at the same time that a family has to learn of the loss. This case is what helped me to discover Websleuths and such an amazing network of people devoted to giving people their names back or finding what has become of a missing loved...
Me too! I don't know how in tune the LE/ME folks are with the Grateful Dead scene, but it would also be poetically bittersweet if they called it on the 20th anniversary of Jerry's death, but surely it won't be another 6 weeks.
I wasn't sure where to post this, but I noticed that Grateful Doe's Namus profile was modified today. Jason C. is not listed as an exclusion. Is there any way to tell what was modified?

I don't know if I am reading too much into this, but I can't help but wonder why they refer to him as "victim" on the 'Circumstances' tab of his NamUs page. Is referring to a missing person as a "victim" typical?

FWIW...two random thoughts came to mind...due to them being in a VW bus, that would explain why they were on a state route and not an interstate. Also, with the possibility of a Myrtle Beach connection, I looked back at the thread with the 914 prefix spreadsheet and a town listed in SC is...
That makes sense as to why he may have had the bruises on his body. Perhaps he had a diabetic seizure of some sort while getting his hair cut. (I'm thinking of the scene in Steel Magnolias where Shelby has her episode while getting her hair done.) Of course the part that doesn't make sense is...
I can see that as well...a homemade tat and that it may have been an unfinished dancing bear. Here's a link to Google images of dancing bears in various forms...
It doesn't look like one of the GD bears to me. One thing that came to mind is the picture drawn on the note from the Carolines. What if it is not a tattoo, but where Caroline drew the same picture on his arm? If you look closely, there is a slight resemblance to the "Caroline picture". The...

That area in Kingsport was not really developed in 2002. There has been quite a bit of development over the past few years and it keeps moving west toward Bristol. I would not be surprised if it is Cody Matney, because 11W is West State Street in Bristol and turns into East Stone drive in Kingsport.
I've been hearing recent news about this woman and thought I'd share that they may be close to finding her remains.

Also, a lot of child neglect has been going on in this area here lately. I'm not sure what came of it, but a toddler was found in a ditch a couple of weeks ago in her pajamas. About a month ago, a child was found wandering in Walmart at 4am, because he had been left there by his parents who were...
I know some of the stats are off, but I think she somewhat resembles Aundria Bowman. The age range would be right for her. Since she was 14 when she went missing, she could have grown a few more inches and put on some weight.

I am not sure how good of a match this is, but she is listed as having a lot of dental work and is presumed dead with the body never recovered.
