Official press release asks the tough questions of mary lacy

I haven't posted here in a while, but have to say that Mary Lacy may have just fulfilled the bias she was known to harbor when she took over the job....anything to exonerate the Ramseys. And that is because, even if there's actual DNA of an unknown participant, that fact fully comports with...

Lawrence Smith Replies - If you can say that

Thanks for the insightful opening for me to offer my variation on that staging theory which I don't think I've repeated here in over a year. The "ransom" note was most likely written a day or so ahead, and not for the purpose that later developed. The original purpose was probably to create a...

Lawrence Smith Replies - If you can say that

I'd just like to note again here that a force other than a sudden blow may well be involved. One such as a foot standing on the head in which there was a small time interval, then a literal popping of the skull as it failed under the weight...and another scenario I've noted is of a garage door...

    Skull fracture question

Sorry for a hit and run post, but I would suggest (as I have before) that the 8+ inch split in the skull with no visible trauma could have occurred from a increasing pressure force which burst the skull...sort of like if you sat on a pumkin as compared to hitting it with an object. It need not...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

Interesting link Smurf, but the psychiatrist quoted is way off. Narcissistic Personality Disorder "sufferers" (and it's those around them who suffer most), along with others with actual diagnosable personality disorders, are rarely likeable people and even less rarely interact well with others...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

Certainly mental illness is a possibility and should be ruled in or out with hopefully competent assessments. But what is a "leap" is to immediately think that a person with a lifetime of seemingly normal behavior is mentally ill if he/she commits a heinous act. That is both counter-intuitive...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

The Smoking Gun documents kindly linked by above give one tidbit I had not heard. That is Lisa Nowak got the flight plans of Ms Shipman (and apparently the emails etc) from the computer of "the man they had a common interest in". The Smoking Gun

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

I haven't heard yet that the apparent victim here (Capt Shipman) has stated that Nowak was confused or disoriented, as opposed to determined and aggressively attempting to get her. Assuming mental illness is a leap in itself. Especially when the symptoms suddenly appear only after after...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

I saw about all the coverage tonight and even the former US Attorney on Greta did not mention federal charges. But this woman hatched a plot in Houston, bought what she needed there, then drives through LA, MS, AL, to Florida, carrying weapons and materials for a criminal act, across state lines...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

DNA in restrooms? I'd say she just did not want to enter the station/conv store to avoid getting on video cameras along the way Houston to Orlando. They need to check the credit cards she used...since she planned it so well, but they could point to her taking the trip...stolen or fraudulent...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

LE is notorious for overcharging with unprovable things that juries are forced to reject. If they have no confession that she started an attempt to kill or kidnap, or a written /computer confirmation of such a plan, or a witness, accomplice, or "co-conspirator", then those charges might well...

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

Problem is she may have been stopped short of what could be called an actual "attempt", and there is no "conspiracy" of one person. The best charge will probably be a federal case for crossing state lines with intent to commit the crime of murder, or kidnapping.

GUILTY FL - Astronaut Lisa Nowak arrested in kidnap attempt, 5 Feb 2007

Lisa Nowak is now released on bond of $15,500. http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/06/us/06cnd-astronaut.html?hp&ex=1170824400&en=71a9bbaa8c20eb8a&ei=5094&partner=homepage The plastic bags, knife, latex gloves, and steel mallet suggest a killing and body disposal of course. The BB gun was a CO2...

Hey, Karr wrote the note, didn't he?

It's all about the note. So much about the note made Karr a ridiculous suspect from the beginning. Its style. Its content. Its personalized angles. Its writing form. Its length. Its very existence with a dead victim on the premises. Thinking analytically requires that the existence of the...

What John Karr knew that the public wasn't privy to....according to article in People

I think Gaia is right. There's no chance that Karr would not have taken a souveneir from the scene of his alleged cross-country adventure. When and if that surfaces, they will at least have one piece of evidence.

    Breaking News Archive - 20th - 26th Aug

Nate Karr reiterates that his brother cannot be guilty. States they had kid oriented Christmas gatherings and communications, and it would have been an unforgettable family scandal if he had been absent, ever. http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/us/AP-JonBenet-Ramsey.html?_r=1&oref=slogin Noting...

    Michael Tracey Thread

How dumb is Wendy Murphy? Well I saw and heard her comment on the recent release after years of incarceration of the Maryland man whose DNA testing proved he was not involved in the rape and killing of a child. The victim had been taken by a lone guy fishing at a stream, when the victim walked...

13 Separate Similarities Convinces Handwriting Expert

Jeralyn Merritt seems to agree with the opinion I posted earlier about this expert and goes a bit further to adress his claims that he can recognize a pedophile from his handwriting. (Opinion: He's a publicity seeker.) http://talkleft.com/new_archives/015555.html
