This was perhaps the first Websleuths case I followed from the beginning. Even then I was unsatisfied with (what seemed to me) an almost casual way the local and state police were handling the case. It's a pattern I have seen since with other cases: when the family has reached a certain level of...
I have been unable to find an actual discussion of this exact point, BUT..
A different thread turned up some other images of this knot which certainly suggest that the hair is actually caught into the knott as it was tied, rather than tangled and perhaps caught under a loop as the device was...
So I am clear...
You think Burke molested her, bashed her, then strangled her after crafting this noose thing (rather than bashing her a few more times because why not). Then, when his parents found out, rather than the adults calling their lawyer and the police, they instead concocted an...
Respectfully, I don't have a clue what you are saying. Of course things in the wine cellar are "staged" to some degree or other. That's not really the question. Rather, I think we have to ask: what do we see that's real (meaning it occured as we now see it), what is fake or modified by the...
That's quite a nice knot there to be tying onto the neck of a dying child. Do you have a link that breaks down the knot and how the hair is caught in there?
I do not think it does necessarily point to non-RDI. Rather, it only points to it not being done on the spur of the moment that evening. In my opinion of course.
For the record, I think the non-RDI theories I have heard are all pretty far fetched and ignore the evidence in the case.
Much of this fits in well with what I believe. However, I do not believe Burke was involved in any way other than perhaps knowing more than he is saying. If he was the R's never would have let him out of their sight.
Statistically, the younger the child the more likely it is that mom is the...
It's ultimate use could well have been to put a fataly injured child out of her misery, but this does not necessarly indicate that this was it's INTENDED or original use. Correct?
Something has always bothered me about this portion of the crime as well, but it wasn't until today -- looking...
I suspect quite a few people believe a scenario very similar to this. Someone was sexually abusing this child prior to her murder. I think this dovetails nicely with what I wrote about the strangulation device being something that was already crafted prior to the day of the murder.
Perhaps...
I guess what I am saying is that this, in my opinion, dramatically understates the case. If we assume that it was constructed that night it still misses the signifant question of WHY this device and not something else?
Someone who is thinking strangulation is picturing things they might use...
The image below, taken from the Forums for Justice forums, is a photograph of the ligature or garrote used during the murder of this child. I freely admit that this might well have been discussed to death and I missed it, but for whatever reason I never really paid any attention to this weapon...
IMO etc!
They couldn't know and would be insane to risk it. No matter what he promised there would always be the chance he would crack and confess. And in any case, if the parents knew Burke did it there would be no need to cover anything up. He was a child, he could have chased her down the...
