    Angelina Jolie

I don't think it matters where she adopts from-a child needs a family and love no matter where they are from. I also don't think there's anything wrong with an American who doesn't live in the State-if I had the money and the kind of lifestyle to support it I think it would be really cool to...

Study: 1 in 4 teen girls has an STD

Some strains of HPV cause genital warts but just because you have HPV does not mean you have genital warts. There's over 100 strains of HPV. Numbers 6, 11, 42, 43, 44, 55 may cause genital warts (6 and 11 cause something like 90% of genital warts). 16, 18, 31, 33, 35, 39, 45, 51, 56, 58, 59...

Report: Anti-War Judge Rejects Foster Teen's Bid to Join Marines

Hmmm...I think the judge is wrong to base his ruling on his personal opinion however I don't think that foster kids should be allowed to early enlist without some kind of oversight. Someone needs to be looking out for these kids and making sure that they're not being mislead by a recruiter or...

Scientist: All Blue Eyed People Are Related

2 blue eyes parents can produce a child with brown or green eyes and two brown eyed parents can produce a blue eyed child. If you're interested in reading up on it this little article has more info...http://www.thetech.org/genetics/ask.php?id=29 Becca

    Tom vs Nicole

ITA about her hair-I commented to DH just the other day that if Kidman goes any paler or blonder she's going to be transparent. She had lovely red hair and a beautiful creamy complexion-as a fellow redhead who didn't avoid the freckle curse-I really think she should show it off and play it up...

Tiger kills man at San Francisco Zoo (Part 2)

It's actually the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines, Iowa-lol-much smaller but just right for the kiddos-we can do the zoo in a couple hours or spend all day visiting the animals and listening to the keeper talks. I have a cousin not far from San Diego and I'm dying to get out there and check out...

Tiger kills man at San Francisco Zoo (Part 2)

It's awful when people can't give even the most basic of respect to these animals. We are members of our local zoo and go often-probably 20-30 times a year. We enjoy seeing the animals and learning about them and have been working hard to teach DD (age 3) about how to behave in the zoo. Last...

Woman Kicked Off Bus For Reading Bible Out Loud To Her Kids!

Lol-how would you know if the person reading the Bible were Muslim or Christian unless they announced at the beginning "I'm Muslim and I'm reading this hear Bible right now." :) Far as I know you can't tell a persons religion by their appearance unless they're wearing religious attire. (even...

Tiger kills man at San Francisco Zoo

If these young men had a hand in helping the tiger escape-either by dangling a leg over the edge or placing a board across the moat then I don't see how we can blame the zoo. It was a perfectly safe enclosure for an agitated tiger UNTIL it was tampered with. 23, 19, and 17 is certainly old...

Parents Face Tough Questions When Santa's Magic Fades

As an adult atheist who grew up Methodist I don't think finding out Santa wasn't real had anything to do with my not believing in God. My lack of faith stems from the lack of evidence that would indicate the existence of God, the myriad contradictions of the Bible and other religious texts...

Contractor, Homeowner Feud Over Money in Walls

I think the decent thing to do would be to split it 50/50. The homeowner wouldn't have found the money without him doing the work and the contractor certainly could have kept his mouth shut and kept it all for himself. I don't know what the legal precedent would be but I think they should do anyway.

    Food Banks Come Up Short

Instead of buying a food item DH and I buy a gift card for $5-10 dollars when we go grocery shopping. When we get around $50 in gift cards we send them to the food bank. That way they can buy the food they need to pad out their shelves. It spreads it out for us so we're not trying to come up...

TX - Man shoots, kills burglars despite orders from 911 operator, 14 Nov 2007

I went to school with a guy who got mixed up in a very bad scene after high school. He was mixed up in all kinds of drugs and did a lot of stupid things-one of the things he did was break into several house where no one was home to steal things so he could get money for drugs. He ended up going...

TX - Man shoots, kills burglars despite orders from 911 operator, 14 Nov 2007

I'm sure it will be a consolation to him to know that his possessions are safe while he's in prison for murder. I certainly wouldn't want to risk my freedom for my neighbors DVD player, my neighbor sure, but not their stuff. Becca

"Magic Attic" books list sex line phone # in back

Ok-the mom that check out all the books from the library once she found out about it.... why not just alert the librarians so they can take a black sharpie and color over it or put a sticker there. Lol-our library only lets you renew a book twice-they gotta go back to the library sometime! Becca

Parents Fake Religion to Avoid Vaccines

I think the hardest part of being a parent is that you're always trying to make good decisions for your child and always second guessing yourself and wondering if you're right. When you look at all the parenting advice that's changed over the years it's scary-all those parents who put their baby...

All Things Britney Spears Part 3

I've seen that phrase quite a few times when the when the writer/speaker is British-it seems to just be another way to say someone "got pregnant." Becca

5 Yr Old Boy Killed While Playing On Train Tracks

It's horrible for the family but it's also horrible for the train crew that had to witness it. It's an awful, awful thing to know you're going to hit a child and be unable to stop it from happening. By the time they're close enough to see the person on the tracks it's too late to stop the train...

Parents Fake Religion to Avoid Vaccines

The FDA is damned if they do and damned if they don't. If they approve a medication or treatment that later proves to have harmful side effects like Thalidomide they get crucified for not doing enough to prevent it. If they delay a medication for a decade running study after study to make sure...
