Except in this particular case, LE were not 'punishing' anyone.
A.L. was neither forced nor compelled to lodge with criminals due to poverty.
He made a choice to stay with people who were possibly involved in a homicide.
It's one thing to live in an area with known criminals, but another...
Iirc, from an article her friends said she'd talked about the pregnancy and didn't seem upset about it ?

My first thought after the death of little Damari Perry ( his case is here : IL - Damari Perry 6, murdered by mom & brother, found in abandoned house, Chicago, 7 Jan 2022 *ARREST* | Page 6 ) was : did they try to do something to hide Serenity's small remains ?
Horrible.
Imo.
Exactly. ^^^
No one is compelled to be a parent, it's a privilege.
If Serenity's mother didn't want her, let bio dad have her and if that wasn't an option --allow her to be adopted out to a loving family.

Yikes, that's chilling. ^^^

From Barry's perspective only, a pseudo 'faith' that was only to be there to be utilized -- when it was useful to him?

Haven't checked on Jason's case for a bit, but was hoping for better news. :(
How sad this must be for his anxious loved ones.
Praying they receive answers.
I was thinking he left with a friend but expected to return soon, so he didn't tell his family ?
Edit : Sounds like good news and hoping it's official soon !

Thanks for bringing this up.
I've been looking for the post in the previous thread.
Thought someone had said the scent only went to the path behind the playground and into the parking lot ?
Also, have the other children at the playground with her been questioned yet ?

The question as always is : Should LE wait until Amir had fired his gun first, to establish that he was indeed a threat ?
I'd imagine LE's procedures dictate otherwise.
LE did find evidence that may tie into the murder in St. Paul, so they had reason for a 'no knock' warrant.
This was a by...

Good point. ^^^
But I'd imagine LE identified themselves, correct ?
From the articles it sounded like even though AL didn't fire his gun, he had it in his hand ?
Wouldn't LE perceive this as a threat ?
Imo.

That is certainly true !
I support people's rights to defend themselves in the event of a home invasion.
If, however, it's LE, it's wise not to have a gun in your hand -- as LE can't predict what you're going to do.
From the msm articles, LE did not fire because the weapon was on his...

Yes, LE's job is to protect innocent people.
If Amir had fired his gun and missed the police, he may have inadvertently fired into another apartment and killed a neighbor.

It appears that in this particular case, LE did not decide "...who lives and who dies..".
Rather, it was self-defense when the perp had a gun in his hand. Even if it was pointed at the ground, it takes less than a second to raise and fire it.
This was not an execution.
LE are allowed to protect...

Lavender bolded : Actually, in Amir Locke's case, LE did not, "...barge it guns blazing...".
That is not how it happened, there's bodycam footage released by LE to support this.
They did not shoot until they saw the gun in Amir's hand.
They acted within protocol for the situation...
